Special meeting .of the Council of the City of Petaluma called to
order by .Mayor Farrell,
ROLL CALL
r�esenT:, Councilmen Deiss, McFadden, Riewerts, S'chluckebier, Van
Bebber, Woodson, and` Mayor Farrell.
The Clerk read the Mayor's call for meeting which stated that the
meeting was for the purpose of considering and acting upon the
selection of an .Engineer to make a preliminary survey f:or' a sewage
disposal system for the City of Petaluma, * whi eh call was approved by
the members of the City Council..
Professor C. G. Hyde of the University of , California, wa-s present
and addressed the City Council, outlining his experience as sanitary
engineer, 'an:d, describing different systems , of sewage disposal.
A discussion was had regarding the employment of an. engineer at
this time, some of the members of the City'Counc l expressing the
opinion that no further time should be lost and that an engineer
should be engaged at once,,, while other members stated that -further
time, should be given the matter and other engineers consulted.
Councilman Schluckebier introduced Resolution #4211 C.S. authorizing
And engaging L. R. 111shk an and Charles G. Hyde to 'prepare •and submit,
a report- -upon the various' types of sewage disposal systems suitable
to the needs of this City together with estimates of the cost of each,
said report to be in such form and contain the information and plans
necessary to submit in an._applicat on to the Federal Emergency
Administration of `Public Works fora loan to� construct such system.
The fee for said service to be 3/4 of one per cent of the estimated
cost of the system approved'by the Council, but not exceeding $1000.00,
and to include necessary appearance before the Federal Agency in
support of any application, said sum also to be a part of any fee
agreed upon later for supervision of the construction of the pro j.ect
if approved, which resolution was seconded by Councilman. Van Bebber,
and .carried by the following vote:
Ayes.; Councilmen Riewerts, Schluckebier Tian .Bebber, and Mayor
•;Farrell.
Noes: :Councilmen Dess, McFadden, and Woods.on.. M

carried,the meeting adjourned. a
