ROLL CALL: resent: Councilmen Deiss,, McFadden, Riewerts, Schluckebier, Bebb Van \ er, Woodson, and Mayor Farrell. Absent: None. READING OF THE JOURNAL: Tfie minutes of the last regular meeting of November 6th were read and approved as recorded. -REPORTS -0F° i OFFICERS : Mul vaney c a m for damages :, The City Attorney reported in °writing regarding the claim of Anne Mulvaney in the amount of $815.04, recommending that said claim. be rejected and setting'for.th his reasons therefor. Later - brought, up under.the.head of New Business and on motion by Councilman Schluckebier, seconded by Councilman Riewerts, the report 'was accepted and the claim rejected. So ordered. REPORTS OF .-STANDING COMMITTEES: The Finance omm t e'e submitted its report; whereupon Resolution #4233 C.S. introduced* Councilman Schluckebier,, seconded by_ Councilman Riewerts,, directing the Auditor to draw warrants against the various City Funds in payment of claims allowed and approved by.the Finance Committee,..: adopted by 7 affirmative votes. PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS:. Applilcation of Rosa Taus for permission to sell soft drinks at 105 Western Avenue,.read and filed, and Resolution #4234 C.S. introduced'by Councilman Riewerts, seconded by Councilman Schluckebier, granting said application, adopted by 7 affirmative votes,. NEW BUSINESS': s'- painting roof of city hall: This being the time set for opening bids for the painting of the roof' o.f'the City Hall, the Clerk reported having received three . bids and proceeded to open and read said bids as follows:, H. L. Mero, $197.50; Gutermute,..$180.00; A. B. Conner,'$225.00, whereupon Resolution #4235 C.S. introduced Councilman McFadden, seconded by Councilman Deiss, accept- ing the bid of D. Gutermute for the sum of $180.00, and authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement for said work_, adopted by 7 affirmative votes. "Stage parking:. The Committee appointed to investigate the application of Mrs. Pearl Monett for a permit for a parking zone in front of Continental Hotel for the convenience of-the Pacific Greyhound Stages, submitted a written report, recommending that the stages be ordered to find some location, other than,a public street, for taking on and discharging 'their passengers;.and that the said company be given until December Tst,`'1933 to find such location. Said report was read and filed and after being discussed on motion by Councilman McFadden, seconded by Councilman Riewerts, the recommendation of the committee was accepted ;' So ordered. 1 Mr. H. "Benton addressed the Council on behalf'of the annual drive of the Red Cross, requesting the Mayor to issue a proclamation asking that the solicitors for the drive be considerately and-.cordially -met the people.
