Special meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma
held on the above date in the Council Chambers of' the City Hall..
Gduncilman.Woodson moved and Councilman Riewei-ts seconded
that Councilman McFadden preside over the meeting as Chairman, which
motion was put by the Clerk and unanimously carried and to ordered..
ROLL CALL:•
Present: CouncIlmeh Deist, McFadden, Riewerts, and W o.odson.
The Clerk read the call for meeting which stated that the
meeting, was for the purpose of first',, appointing Councilmen to Pill
the vacancies created by the resignations of Councilmen Schluckebier
and Van Bebber%; and second, ond. to discuss, consider and vote upon the
prop of appropriating funds for the continuance of the C.W
-work beingdone - and to be done on the' McNear Park.and the purchase
of materials and supplLes therefor.
The first item of business was taken up and the Clerk read
the 'application of Geo., S. Gri-fffim as a candidate for the City

Council. On motion by Councilman Woodson, s;econded by Councilman
Riere , rts the application was laid. on, the table.". ao ordered,-.

introduced by Councilman Deit , sj seconded by Councilman Wooddon,
appointing. J. Y. Penry a Councilman of the, City of Petaluma to fill
the •vacancy, created by the re.sIgnation of L.. Schluckebier, adopted by
4 affirmative votea, and

introduced by Councilman McFadden., seconded by Councilman Riewerts,
, appointing E. Denman McNear a Councilman of the City of Petaluma to
fill the vacancy created the resignati,on of G. W. Van Bebber
adopted by 4" affirmative vote's.
The second item of busineas was then discussed, Coiincilman
Woodson explaining that the work- on the grandstand was only ,half'
fintshed and that the cost of materials to finish the same would be
about $506.00. He further explained that the cost of materials -
on the Water Street c'oncret6. wall - would be about $2000.00 and that
there is not sufficient money in the Unemployment Relief Fund to
carry on both of thea projects. It was the c of optnion
that the McNear project should be completed, whereupon Councilman
Woodson moved, seconded by Councilman. Dels,s, that the neceasary- sum
to complete the project started at the McNear Park be appropriated
but that no purchases be made at any one time to exceed the . sum of
$200.00•. So ordered,.
A communication from, Frank Mardis for the position of
Councilman was read, filed,, and laid on the table.
ADJOURNMENT:
The business for Which the meeting was called, having been
completed on motion by' Councilman. Reiss, seconded by Councilman
Riewerts,. thP meeting adjourned.
