Regular meeting of. the Council of 'the' city of Petaluma calked
to order by Mayor McFadden.
ROLL .CALL:
Present: Councilmen Dei.ss:, Gervasoni... Jones, McNe'ar, P.enry,
Woodson, and Mayor McFadden.
READING .OF THE JOURNAL:
The minutes of the last regular meeting of February 19th were
read and approved as recorded.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS:
The monthly reports of the City Wharfinger, Poundman, Police
Judge, Garbage Inspector, Auditor, and Treasurer, were read and filed..

Spartans Amateur Athletic Club for the period of .3 years, was read,,
approved by the City Attorney, and ordered posted.

City Attorney Brooks read hi,s opinion concerning the legality
o:f the ordinance creating the. Music Commi'asion and providing for an
appropriation each year to carry out the purposes of the commission.:

appropriations from public funds not to exceed $2,000.00 per year may be

Opinion of City Attorney.,- re Garbage Collection:
The City Attorney also read his opinion regarding the petition
for cancellation of the Garbage Collector's Contract, which opinion was

Spartans, - Lease of Exhibiition Bldg.
Councilman Jones rep;orte,d that, the :Spartans Club had finally
accepted the original proposal approved by-the Buildings and Grounds
Committee for the leasing of the-Exhibition Bldg. at Kenilworth Park-,
and that. necessary papers on same had been prepared by the City Attorney
and.were ready for presentation.
Airport:
Gounc'ilman Penry reported that government appropriation for
airports had.Iapsed but that the committee vi l continue to funetion: and
have everything in shap.e in case . more ,funds' are appropriated.
PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS:
.'Town Clock:
An estimate of cost from H. P. Vogensen Company'regarding the
repair ,:or removal of the town clock was read, filed,, and referred to- -the

Committee.
Cbunoilman Penny' called, attention to the matter of
restoring sidewalks lertt,uncovered when trees were recently
removed. 'Refer3yed, to the Street Committee and. SuD.erintendent of
S'ireets;
The matter of the bus stop for the 'Pacific Greyhound
Lines was briefly discussed without- action.
Bulkhead on river north. of Washington St 'Bridge:
The City' Engineer was directed to prepare Plans, and
sp6ciftcati,ons f or the repair and construction of a- reinforced
concrete bulkhead, on the river north of the. Washington Street.
Bridge, said plans to be acted upon at a meeting to be held on
Thursday morning,,, itbeing understood that the labor is to be
.provided under a W. A. project. Mr. Isaacs of the,Petaluma
and Santa Rasa Railway addressed the Council 'on t . the subjec
offering assistance in providing equipment,,,et&,.
Mayor McFadden stated that he would appoint a committee
from the Chamber of Commerce to assist the - City AttotvnOy and
Secretary of the Planning, Cbmmi in preparing a new zoning
ordinance and map.
