HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 03/08/1934r 11D 44.5 March 8, 1934. 10 o'clock a.m. 1 Special meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called to order by Mayor. McFadden. ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen Dei.ss, Gervasoni, Jones, McNear, Penry, Woodson, and Mayor McFadden. The Clerk read the Mayor's call.for meeting and the consent to the holding of said meeting. Plans and.specifications for the construction of a re- inforced concrete well on the West side.of Petaluma River, immediately north of the Washington Street Bridge, were presented and filed by the City Engineer, A discussion was had as to the possible responsibility of the Petaluma and Santa Rosa. Railroad Company in repairing this bulkhead but City Attorney pointed out the fact that the franchise granted to said Petaluma and Santa Rosa Railroad permit's their use of..the street above the bulkhead. Mr. Isaac is offer of assistance in this work wasalso called to the attention of the Council and it was the consensus of opinion that the City Council proceed immediately with the construction of the wall and accept Mr. Isaacts offer of aid. Ordinance No. 414 C.S. introduced by Councilman Deiss, seconded by Councilman McNear,.providing for the construction of a re- inforced concrete wall on the West side of Petaluma River immediately north of Washington Street Bridge, was read., approved by the City Attbrney,..and ordered posted. Resolution #4266 C.S. introduced by Councilman Deiss, seconded by Councilman Gervasoni, approving the plans and specifications for the construction of a re- inforced concrete wall on the 'Test side of Petaluma River.,. immediately North'of the Washington Street Bridge, and directing the Clerk to advertise for bids for the contract of supervising said work as the Foreman thereof, and for bids for the material to be used therein, adopted by 7 affirmative votes. After the adoption of the above resolution the matter was reconsidered, and Resolution ,4267 C.S. introduced by Councilman Gervasoni, seconded by Councilman Deiss, repealing Resolution #4266 C.S. approving the plans and specifications filed by the City Engineer, and directing the Clerk to advertise for bids for the material only, adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
