Special meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma
called• to order by Mayor McFadden.
ROLL CALL.:

and Mayor McFadden;
Absent: Councilman McNear..
''The Clerk read the Mayor l_s call `for meeting which stated
that the- meeting was called for the purpose of introducing an
ordinance providing for the payment by the City° a'f Petaluma of a
sum not to exceed 4700.00 toward the cost of repairing and remodeling
the clock and tower situated 'on the Northeast corner of the Masonic
Hall Association Building and which,ordiriance provides for a written
contract with said'Association concerning the work of repairing said
clock and tower and assuming ownership of the said clock and agreeing to
operate and maintain. -the same. The clerk read the written consent
of the members of the City Council to the holding of the above meeting.
INTRODUCTION "0F ORDINANCES
Ordinance-No. 424 C.S•. introduced,by Councilman Jones,
seconded by Councilman Petry, providing for the payment by the City
of a sum not to exceed seven hundred dollars toward the cost.of
repairing and remodeling the clock and tower situated on the top of
the northeast corner of the Masonic Hall Association Building in this
City; approving of a written contract with the. Masonic. Hall Association
concerning the said of repairing the clock and tower; assuming
ownership of said clock and agreeing to and maintain said
clock; and repealing ordinance No. 421 G.S. was read, .-approved by the
City Attorney, anal. ordered posted.
On motion by Councilman Penry, seconded by Councilman Jones,
a vote of 'thanks was extended to Mr. Art S. Newburgh and the Petaluma
Argus!Courier for their activities in the campaign.to retain the town
clock. So ordered.
