Adjourned meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma, called to order by 'Mayor McFadden., ROLL CALL Present: Councilmen. Dei.ss, Gervason'i., Jones, Mc'Near, Penry, Woodson, -and Mayor McFadden. Re: - New Charter: Mr. C. B.. Jessen, member of the Board of Freeholders, addressed the Council reporting that the Charter was not ready for delivery to the Council and requesting that the meeting be again adjourned until M'ond'ay October 8th,., at which time the charter would be presented,. Councilman Woodson stated that he believed that Mr., W. R. Thomas, of Santa Ro who is in charge of the P work for this district, cbuld be obtained 'for a discussion of the workings of the P.W.A. and C.W.A. and that much valuable infor..mation could be thus gained dir -ectly from 'Mr. Thomas. Councilman Woodson was delegated to contact Mr. Thomas and invite him to be present at the me'eting•on Monday evening. Discussion of Sewage Bond Election; A discussion was had .as to the present status of the request. for another bond election, Mr.. C. B. Jessen reporting that an interesting meeting had been held with the Board of Public Works of the City Council and that he believed the meeting to be productive of much good. He stated that the "Citizens Committee had not as yet fully decided as to how the petitions will be circulated.' Councilman McNear stated that he believed the committee circulating the proposed petiti.ons had a. great responsibility in asking the Council to call another election for the purpose of bonding the city fora large debt and that before doing so they should consult the financial interests of the city for advise as to whether or not" the population of Petaluma , can afford to pay for a large debt over the next thirty :yea -rs,. and that the people should be acquainted with the entire cost of the proposition. Mr. Jessen and Mr. Vogensen spoke on behalf of the petitions and stated that any information given to the public regarding the costs of the proposed proposition should have the approval of the Board of Public Works'. There being no further business, .Resolution #4329 C.S. introduced by Councilman McNear, seconded by .Councilman Gervasoni, adjourning the meeting to Monday, October 8,, 1934, at 7:';50 P. -M,. adopted by '7 affirmative votes..
