December 17, 1934.
Regular meeting of the'Council of the city of Petaluma called to
order by Acting Mayor Woodson.

Present: Councilmen Deiss, Gervasoni, Jones, Penry, and Woodson.
Absent: Mayor McFadden and Councilman McNear:

read and .approved as recorded,.
REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES:
The Finance omnit e:e submitted its report, whereupon
. Resolution #4343 C.S.
i- ntroduced by Councilman Woodson, seconded by Councilman Gervasoni,
directing' the Auditor to draw warrants against the various City Funds
(Nos. .1244 to 1345 inclusive) in payment of claims allowed and approved
by'the Finance Committee, adopted by 5 affirmative votes, 2 absentees.

Public Works, advising that the allotment of a Town and grant of $325,000.
made to the City of Reta.luma on Judy 2nd, had been rescinded as of
December 10, 1934, read and filed.
Application of Rena de Felice for permission to'sell soft drinks
at 160 Main Street, read and filed, and
Resolution #4344 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman Penry, granting .
said application, adopted by '8. affirmative votes, 2 absentees.
'Letter from Petaluma Camp No. 63, United Spanish War Veterans, .
inviting the Council to attend the annual banquet and installation of
Jones Brseconded January by Councilman, read, filed, and on motion by Councilman
Gervason, the invitation. was accepted. So
ordered.
NEW BUSINESS:
Claim of Guiseppe Merla:
The City Attorney submitted: a written opinion concerning the
claim of Guizeppe 'Merla. for refund of deposit made by him under the
"Itinerant Merchant" Ordinance., which opinion was read and filed.
Acting Mayor Woodson, reported: that pursuant to the opinion above referred
t.o the ;claim of ISRr�. 11fierla for refund of $250.00 had been passed and approv-
ed, by the Finance Committee and warrant prepared for delivery to Mr. Merla,.
In reply t_o Councilman_ Penry?s suggestion that the "Itinerant Merchant.',s
Ordinance<be repealed; the City Attorney stated that this was not the
customary proceedure,,and he did. not deem it'necessary.

Si xth �S reet Extension:
City Brooks,reported regarding the steps -which had been
taken toward securing a deed from. Mrs. Goodman for the strip of land
necessary for the extension of Sixth Street, reporting on the deed as
presented' by Attorney Crawford and the changes in the provisions. of the
deed as requested by the City Council.. He further stated that a report
from the title company shows certain discrepancies in the boundaries of
the property of Larson and Huffman and the lines as surveyed by the City'
Engineer. I't is his opinion that these discrepancies can be straightened.
out and he is now working toward that end,. The matter was left in the
hands of 'the City Attorney.,
Re - Winery Sewer:
Councilman Deiss, Chairman of the Street Committee, reported
that Mr. Ricci, local manager of the assignee of th.e�Biltmore Conservation
Corporation, had decided to construct_an independent sewer from the plant
to the 'River and that 'rights of way are now being sought by the Company.
This conclusion to the:ma.tter will eliminate the proposed constructing
of t the,, winery s ewer as an SERA project.
