April 30, 1935.
Special meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called
to order by Mayor McFadden.'.
ROLL CALL:
Present: Councilmen Gervason , Jones, Me Near, Penry, Woodson,
and Mayor McFadden.
Absent Counci_ -man Deiss
READING OF THE CALL:
The Clerk read the Mayor-Is call for meeting and the consent to
the holding of said meeting. 'The call stated that the meeting was for_
the purpose of rescinding the action of the City Council. by Resolution
No. 4384.C. S. awarding the bid to Crescent Electric. Co; for`'th:e #8'B & S
Gauge Hazard 3'5;00 volt copper wire,, and directing 'the Clerk to call for_
bids for said copper wire, said bids to be opened at the regular meeting
of the Council on May 6th, 1935.

Pacific Coast Manager. of the Okon:ite Company. to represent.
the Crescent
Electric Company in" rescinding its bid and agreeing to pay all costs of
re- advertising, whereupon .Mayor- McFadden ;telephoned the Crescent Electric
Company and 'was gold by Mr.. J. B;. Roxburgh, owner of the Crescent Electric
Company, that 'Mr.. 'Borda was authorized t,o represent his companf °whereupon
the following res'olilt;i_on was adopted by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee

introduced by Councilman.Jones, seconded by Councilman Vvoodson.
WHEREAS.. this city has, been - advised by Crescent Electric Co. "
that its bid dated .April 22, 193'5, covering copper wire required -in the
improvement work on Main Street according to specifications approved by
Ordinance No. 430 C.S. was in violation of the code of fair competi't'ion
under which it was operating and that it cannot secure' or furnish said
cablO,by reason of such Violation; and
VtTHEREAS staid Crescent Electric Co. has agreed that said bid
may be cancelled and rescinded and that it will pay all costs'of re-
advertising for said material-, and the Council has determined to rescind its
action in accepting said bid by Resolution No. 4384 C.S. and call for new
bids for said materia;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the action of this Council
in accepting said bid of Crescent Electric Co. for the #8.B & S Gauge
Hazard 3500 volt copper wire be, and the same is hereby, rescinded.
BE I'T FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Clerk be, and she is
hereby,- directed to call for bids for said copper wire necessary for said
improvement work in the manner required by the Charter of this said
bids too be opened at the regular meeting of the Council on the 6th day of
May, 1935, at the hour" o:fi 7:30 P.M., and that 'the, costs of said advertising
for bids be deducted froin and paid out of the certified check furnished
by s :al'd Crescent Electric Co. An the sum of 1$59.60, and the balance of
said check returned to said Crescent Electric Co.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the certified checks accompanying
the other bids filed for said electrical material be returned to the
respective bidders with notice that their said bids have been rejected.

There being no further business on motion by Councilman
