Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called to order by Mayor
McFadden,
ROLL CALL:
Present: Councilmen Deiss, Gervasoni, Jones, McNear, Penry, Woodson,, and Mayor
McFadden.

Resolution #4396 C.S.
introduced" by Councilman Gervasoni, seconded, by Councilman McNear, directing the
Auditor to draw warrants ( Nos. 2752 to 2.949 inclusive) against the various City Funds in
Payment of claims :allowed and approved by the Finance Committee, adopted by 7 affirmative.

Re a power' "& light bills - 'D Ste Bridge.:
Councilman McNear"; submitted a written report on the result of his investigation of
the.P.G.& E. brills on the D Street Bridge, showing that a& a result of a change of
schedule, that .a saving of $154.52 per year had been ef.'feeted in these bills.
Re" m property taken from roll for delinquent taxes:
Councilman McNear gave a report of investigations regarding property which had been
sold for taxes and taken from the assessment roll. He stated.that owing to the
state. moratorium on delinquent taxea that nothing could be done about selling the
the.pie:ces of property previously standing in the names of Mollie Mallon and, the Great
'Western Syndicate which were also delinquent in the Courity, but that the, property
formerly standing in the name of Kreitler and now owned - by J. Frank Burns could, be
redeemed and placed back on the roll, the said matter now being in the hands of the
Finance Comaitteem,

Communication from the,,Division of HighZVays, asking that they be advised w'nat steps
had been-ti en in the matter of substituting parallel parking, for diagonal parking, read,

having talked with Mr. Nelson regarding the
conmencement of Project No. 3,' who- stated that we could proceed with the work but that
the State wound not authorize the payment of any monies for any project until, the project,
itself had been - approved by the Department.,
,In connection with Project . No• 3, the City Engineer presented his plans for the work,
but inasmuch as the specifications were not ready the introduction of the ordinance
authorizing the work, was :postponed...
NEW BUSINESS:
Settldment -of Reynaud Bill:
A check for $100600 was reported from Henry and Leon Reynaud, whereupon
Resolution #4397 C.S
introduced by Counc -iLman 'McPJear, seconded by Councilman ilfoodson, authorizing, the Mayor to
accept the suni, of 4IIGO.00 from Henry Reynaud and Leon Reynaud, as payment in full of all
claims ai d. deuEazds of every kind and character which the City; of Petaluma might 'have
against 'Henry Reynaud and Leon Reynaud for the construe tion of a sewer and drain from the
Reynaud Building to the Petaluma 'River, together .with the- cost of construction of a
retai.ning,wall and bulkhead near said Reynaud Building, on the west bank of Petaluma River,.
which work' and construction was done by the City of Petaluma during the months of March
and April; 1934, adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
Company M
Captain. Hopkins and Sergeant Sanborn addressed the Council regarding the ballgame to
be given June 27th for the benefit of the mess fund of Company M. Inasmuch as they
were soliciting the personal contributions of the Councilmen, they were advised to inter- -
view the Councilmen personally.

Official Advertising:
This being the time set for opening bids for the official advertising•pf the
City of Petaluma, the Clerk reported having received a ,bid from. the Petaluma.
Angus Courier, and proceeded `to open and read said bid, whereupon
Resolution #4398 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman `Woodson, �accopting' the bid
of the Petaluma. Argils >Courier .and declaring said newspaper to be the official.
newspaper of the City of Petaluma for the fiscal year 1935 -36, adopted by 7
affirmative votes.
Payment of c1 aliis-'.of'_DEWITT'i.KRUEGER & HARRY SAY :.
Thee Cleirk reported the filing of tvso bills incurred by the Board Freeholders,
one for DeWitt• Krueger in the amount 'of 6'=0.00-and one for Harry Say in the
amount 'of $100.00 It was the consensus of opinion that the bills be paid, and they
were., therefore referred. to the City Attorney to prepare the necessary papers
in connection therewith.
Re - system of numbered receipts
Resolution #4399 C.S.
- introduced by Councilm6ii Woodson, seconded by Councilman Penry; resolving that
following the recommendations of auditors that-the different city ,departments be
required to issue numbered receipts for payrwxits received by such departmeents;,
that Mr. Demiel, F. Begley be requested to prepare and submit to t10 City Council
a system requiring; the various officers of the City to execute receipts for
monies paid to them in such a,manner.as to -keep, proper records covering all. funds
received for the city by the officers, thereof, adopted. 7 affirmative votes..
Count of absentee votes- '
The Council organized as a Board of Election,, Councilman AmerLco,Gerva,soni
being appointed as Inspector, Councilman Von. Deis4s, Judge:, and Councilmen,
McNear _and Woodson -as Clerks, and proceeded to open and count the 55 absentee
voters ballots in the manner provided by law.

The matter of the purchase of a radio broadcasting unit for the .Police
Department was referred to the Buildings and Ground's Cojzma.ttee fo -r investigation and.
report back.

Re Gasoline curb pumps,
Councilman McNear reported having - interviewed Mr. Manis- regard. ng the
removal of his gasoline curb pump and that Mani•'s had expressed himself as
willing to move -the same. Couneilnan,McNear also reported that the service station
known as ManceboIs 'Service Station is unoccupied at the present time.
The matter of 'the necessity of the removal of all, gasoline curb pumps
i+ras discussed and it was agreed by the members of the Council that property owners
should and Mayor be �ediately no t if ie d of the proposed change.. The Street Committee,,

City Attorney y were asked to interview the owners of the Fuller & Peters
Garage with reference to the curb pumps at that location:
