rate of taxes for the fiscal year 1935 -36, at $1.42 per $100,00 of assessed

Purchase of Ford Truck for Street Department:

the purchase from West.erter.p Brothers,.of a Model A. 1929 Ford Truck,
Engine No. A 281.8074, for the sum of $194.80 - and the old model T. ford Truck
owned by this city, and directing the City Clerk to deliver a warrant in
said sum of $194.80, payable to said Westerterp Brothers, upon the delivery
of said truck and the execution of. the Bill . of Sale therefor and endorsement

William Newburgh - appointed Fire Commissioner:

introduced by Councilman Woodson., seconded.by Councilman Ingerson, appointing
William Newburgh as a member of the Fire Commission of this city, to fill
the vacancy created upon the death of Arthur S. Newburgh, adopted.by 7
affirmative votes.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Police Radio:
City Attorney Brooks reported having forwarded a copy of the Charter
to the Federal Communications_Commis.si.on by airmail, immediately after the
last meeting, but that to date he.had had no response from the Commission
regarding the construction permits. for the Police Radio.
Chief of Police.Peters- brought up the matter of enforcing the
new parallel parking ordinance, stating that due to the vacation period
he had not sufficient men to mark the.stre.ets more than twice a day. The
matter was discussed and left. in the. hands of the Chief of Police for
enforcement as he deemed.best.
The Street Committee and Superintendent of Streets were delegated
to investigate the reverse gutter.at the intersection-of Mt. View and
Sixth Street, and if adviseable.to place warning signs or slow signs
at the intersection.
Councilman Deiss reported having partially furnished the room
on the Third floor of the.City Hall as an extra meeting room.
