Regular meeting of the Council. of the City of Petaluma called
to order by Mayor McFadden.
ROLL CALL:
Present: Councilmen Deiss, Gervasoni, Ingerson, Myers, Penry,
Woodson:, and. Mayor McFadden.
READING OF THE JOURNAL,:
The minutes of the last regular meeting of December 2nd were
read and approved as recorded.

REPORTS OF 'STANDIN'G COMMITTEES:
The Finance Committee submitted its - ,report, whereupon
Resolution #4462 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Woodson, seconded by Councilman Gerva.soni,
dire'cting the Auditor to draw warrants (`Nos. 1438 to 1538 inclusiv
against the various City Funds in payment of claims allowed and approved
by the,Finance Commttee,_adopted by 7 affirmative votes:
PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS:
Application of Marry T. Goasage for position as Police OffLaer,
read and filed.
Communication from W. Harry Archer and Associate's, consulting .
and industrial engineers, read and filed.
NEW BUSINESS:
seating Miscellaneous Revenue Fund:
Resolution # #4463 C. S.
introduced by Councilman Woodson, seconded by Councilman Gervason•,
directing that hereafter all sums and moneys paid to and received by
this city for license fees,. fines, franchise taxes, rentals and , all other
revenue, exclusive of taxes and assessment s collected under the - annual
tax levy on real and personal ,property, shall be placed and set �s "ide by
the Auditor in a fund. to be.. known and designated. as the Miscellaneous
Revenue Fund; further directing that. no payments or withdrawals shq.11
be made from staid Miscellaneous Revenue Fund except upon .order by
resolution or ordinance adopted by the C'louncil; provided,, however, that
it shall be lawful and proper- for the to authorize and direct
the apportionment and transfer of sums and moneys from said Tliscellaneous
Revenue Fund to any other fund or funds of the city for the general.or
particular purposes for which said fund or funds .have been -or may be
hereafter created; further resolving that the provisions of this
resolution shall not apply to sums or moneys collected by or for any
particular, department or commission of the city in'the operation of the
functions or duties thereof, which sums so collected shall -be, by the
Auditor:, placed directly into the fund or funds which have been or
shall hereafter be created for the use of such department or commission;
and further resolving that the provisions of this resolution shall
not : affect the provi:siohs of any ordinan_c.e of this city or any law
of the State of California - relating to or requiring the. placing or
setting aside of certain revenue in any particular fund or funds. for the
uses or purposes mentioned in such ordinance or lawn; adopted'by 7
.affirmative "votes.
Modification of Agreement between the City of Petaluma and
Royal Tallow & Soup Co.
Resolution x#4464 C. S.
introduced by Councilman Myers, seconded by Councilman Dei.s consenting
to the modification of that certain agreement made the 18th day of
November, 1935, between the City of Petaluma, therein called First
Party, and Royal Tallow & Soap Company, a corporation, therein called
Seeond"party,'by changing the provison therein requiring said second
party to install a.first- class castiron sewer pipe' having an inside
diameter of eight inches, so as to provide that the :inside diameter
of said sewer pipe shall be six inches instead of eight inches, and
also changing the provision,therein for the payment of "$6.00 per year,
commencing on the first day of December, 193-5, so as to provide that.
said payrl}ent of .$6.00 per year unto the city shall commence on the first
day of July, 1936, instead of on the first day of December, 1935;
adopted by l affirmative votes.

i VNFI NI_ SHED" BUSINESS:
The Street Committee was granted further time in-which to
bring in a map showing the major city streets, as requested by the State
Division of Highways.
Radio Interference:
Councilman Ingerson. reported having interviewed representatives
of the P. G. & E. Co. regarding radio interference and stated that he had
learned that that company have an expert 'trouble shooter' in San Rafael
who takes care of complaints of electrical 'interference in this district,
and that they also furnish blanks on which to report such complaints..
The Clerk was directed to write to the P. G. & E. Co. for a written -
verification of its service in this connection, and to obtain a supply of
the complaint blanks mentioned.
Armory:
Councilman Myers. reported. on a meeting recently held with
interested parties in regard to the proposed armory and the membership
drive for Company M. He stated that there is to be another meeting :on
these matters'on January 16th and that on January 23rd a stag party will
be held for Company pi's membership drive. Both Councilman. Myers and
Mayor McFadden reported that from information recently by them
the Armory project for Petaluma looks very doubtful.
The Committee appointed to prepare a zoning map was given further
time.
Thompson Creek Project:
The Thompson Creek Storm Sewer project was discussed and on
motion by Councilman Woodson, seconded by Councilman Myers, the project
heretofore outlined -for the improvement of Thompson Creek was directed
submitted to the WPA authorities for approval. Motion carried and so
ordered.
City Attorney Brooks reported that he had written to the
Assistant Administrator of the PWA for information regarding the submission
of the widening of Main Street as a PWA project with an outright grant of
45% of the cost, the balance to be paid out ' of the city's 'share of the
4 cent gasoline tax funds, but that to date he had not received a reply
from his corrimunication.
The request of.the Superintendent of Streets for permission to
have•a small cabin constructed as living quarters for the Bridge Tender
of the Washington Street Bridge, was referred to the Chairman of thelStreet.
Committee for investigation and report back at the next regular meeting.
Councilmen Penry and Deiss were appointed to investigate the
request of Mr. Frank Allen for the purchase of a small piece of land on
4th Street, owned by the City of Petaluma. i
The Buildings dnd Grounds Committee were given power to ac�t
the matter of purchasing a stove for the office of the Tax Collector.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business on motion regularly made and
carried the meeting adjourned.
