.A regular meeting of the City Council was held - this I5th. day of
November 19I5. Mayor Horwege "the chair, all members present.
READING OF J OURNAL.
The minutes of a regular meeting of November Ist. were
read and approved as recorded.
REI PORT OF OFFICERS.
The following reports of Officers were read and placed on
file;
Report of Treasurer for month of October,
Report of Auditor for month of October,
The Clerk presented the affidavit of publication of Ordinance
No. 142 by Homer W. Woods .
The City Attorney reported that a decision in the "Shoe Factory"
case had been rendered in favor of the City by the Supreme Court.

The matter of the hearing of the case of the Pacific Gas and
Electrict Co. regarding gas rates set for December 7th.
'REPORT OF STANDING COMAIT.TEES.
The report of-the :Finance Committee was read and same recommended
for payment by the following resolution;

Introduced by Torr, seconded by Allen.
Adppting the report of the Finance Committee and instructing the
Auditor to dram warrants in payment of said claims.

A pet& was presented by property owners on Laurel
against further improvement until. the sewers and laterals are
lowered to the proper depth. Same was disposed of by Resolution No.IO52
RESOLUTION NO ;
Introduced. by Gossage, seconded by I- vic, Cargar:
Directing the Street Committee to.lower the sewer on Laurel
Ave. -so as to properly conform t,o the grade of said street.

"Newton Johnson representing Lippit and Lippit addressed the

which changed the water course, discharging the water upon lands
owned by Mr. Lippittand made the proposition that--the City - purchase,
the same for X2000.00 plus certain street work due. The matter will
be taken up by the Council as a Comittee by the following resolution;

Resolving that the Council investigate the matter of taking care
of the water on I street where it is turned across the property of
Lippitt and Lippitt and report back'to the Council.

The Industrial.Accident Commission addressed a comunication to
the Supt, of the rock crusher making certain suggestions to co nform
to the State law in regard to the handling of explosive-s; Referred
to the Buildings and Grounds Commi'

A communication was received from E- D. Bullard the purcha-se by,
the City of a "Lungmotor"; FILED.
A coamnaunication was received from the Petaluma Argus asking that
the City purchase five hundred copies of the "Development Addition"
Filed.
A communication was received from the Press Democrat Pub. Co.
of Santa Rosa, asking the Council to appropriate the sum of $100.00
to help meet the cost of completing their "Moving Picture Films".. Filed,
A communication from Lee Bros. was read protesting against the
Expressmens License.
It was deciced that no license would be required for "Outside Expr-
essmon"hauling goods into theCity, but when outside Expreasmen transport'
goods from the City, a license will be required, and the Clerk was , !o
directed to so notify the Lee Bros. Co.
A communication was'received from Wm. B. Hagedohin applying for a
position as regular Police Officer. Filed.
A communication from the. PetalumalVomens Club extending'an,invitation
to the Council to attend a. lecture Tuesday Uovomber 23, was accepted
with thanks.

Resolving that Ordinance Ko. 142 regulating the action of

runners and solicitors for patronage to various means of public
conveyence etc. be and the same is hereby adopted.
Adopted by seven affirmative votes.
NEW BUSINE
Prof. Xenney of.the Unique Theater hay - $50.00 for one
theater
years/license was granted under the same, to run a weekly skating
rink.
The City Engineer asked-for a cabinet for filing maps and records
in his office. Referred-ito Buildings & Grounds Committee with power
to act.
The property owners on Park Ave.-asked for temporary repairs to
the street. No action taken.
14r. Osborne of Hayes Ave. asked that a new culvert be placed on
that street account of the present culvert being too small to carry
the waters draining into said street; He agreeing to do the work if
the City would furnish the material; Referred to St. Com. with power
to act.
The City Engineer reported having run levels in the over-flowed
section of East Petaluma, relative to plans for draining of same.
City Attorney Hall presented records of 1900 purporting to
convey certain to J. A. McNear. The Engineer was directed to
make a survey and describe the lands thus deeded and present the
same to the City Attorney for investigation.

Introduced by Healey, seconded by Torr.
Resolving that the'City through the Mayor, Enter into an
agreement with the A. L'. Young 1-fl-achinory Co. to rent a five l ton
asphalt "Kelly Springfield" roller according to their letter•of
November 6, 1915.
Adopted by six affirmative votes; Councilman,McCargar absent.
