RESOLVED that it iA the intention of the City Council o: Cit
of Petaluma, to order the following work to'be done and improvement to
be made .in. said Webster street to wit:
That Webster street from the west l ne ,of Hayes Avenue to the:
south-easterly line of the Hillside Tract be improved by grading to the
sub -.grade for its entive width, and between the curb lines by macadamizing
With crushed rock and then oiled, and curbed and guttered with- conorete.
Adopted by six affirmative votes, Councilman Healey absent.
Councilman T'orr advised the Council that the Water Morks'Supply Co.
had asked permission to place a supply of "Corey Hydrants in care of'the
Fire Commission in this City as a distributing station for thiazection.
It was the sense of the Council that there would be no objection
to. such an arrangement, providing the above :firm would fully release the
City from all responsibility arising from lose or damage account of fire
or other unavoidable causes, and the Clerk was instructed to so adtise them.
On the suggestion of Councilman Young, - it . was decided, to .order I0
new s f o r the street oiler from t A . L. Young Nlach CO. o trial,
the above firm having offered to place same under the condi ion that they
prove satisfactory. Otherwise they are to be returned to the firm.
Councilman Allen* reported to the Council that he had been advised
that the Unive"relty California Would send an expert here - free - of charge
to make plans for the beautifying of genilworth Park,
The Clerk was reque t notify the Park Commissioners of this
offer.
'Dr. Jackson 'Temple, Health'Officer. Santa Rosa addressed the
Council and after describing the conditions as they exist at the present
time, asked the Council to co- oporate with the City o f `Santa Rosa and
other points with a view of` creating a County Health Board for the purpose
of inspe''cting 611 me:ats.offered for human consumption.
The Counell .was .wnam mows..in._the..:support -.of- such, a plan. and
the Mayor appointed Councilman Gossage to represent the City in the,
matter and to arrange to "meet the Santa Rosa Officials and the County
Supervisors and define the attitude - of this Council.
