affirmative votes.

Chairman Gassage of. Building And Groun's Committee reported that
the improvements ito the upp6r 'floor of the City hall had - been com-
pleted. FILED
PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS.
A Petition from property owners asking that the improvement of the
proposed sewer on Sixth Street be done by private contract. Filed.

..Doctor Ivancovich complained of charges by plumbing inspector.
It was ruled that the ins' ect�or had acted in conformity of the
Ordinances regulating the matter.
. 'Mayor. Horwege stated that he had conferred with, the superintendent
of the Jorthwestern Pacific and they had.agreed to fix the tracks
at street crossings.
Superintendent Shaver reported that on account of g°_cadin on Park

Avenue, certain PQ.1es had to removed. Councilman4Torr reported
that the Joint Pole Commi had taken up the matter reque.sted by
the Council and the changes are now being made,.
Property owners on Payran.Street objected th the gMde established
for that street. The matt', was referred to the street committee
and the engineer for investigation and reporto.
The mat of repair of manhole on ilWett :Street between liberty
and Xeokuk was discussed,. It was decided that the Council should
vizit, and. report what could be done.

to be done.
City Attorney was instruc;ted to draw ordinance in re to
the peddling fruit and vegeta'ole:s also the auctioneering of live
stock.
Councilman i4cCargar ur~ed the construction-of public laboratories
in both the Hill Park and Walnut Park. Referred to Committee on
Public Buildings and Grounds.
A. L. Young of the Young Machinery Co.off the City a new
street SCARifier at cost of $210 He is willing to send same here
on thirty days trial, the City to purchase same if satisfactory. Offer
was accepted.
