A Gommunication from J. E. Olmsted regarding the establishment of Municipal Ban&e asking that the approval of the proposition be submitted to the voters at the coming City Elect.ion'. Same was acted upon by the following resolution: HFSOL'U 'IO4 NO. 205 C.S. Introduced by Councilman Mi. 0. Torr, at a regular meet ing , of the City Council of the City of Petaluma on the 19th day of February, 1917. . Yhereas, believing it of public necessity and public benefit that *a commission be created for the purpose of the organization of a municipal band, said commission to be composed of three members, to be appointed by the mayor BE IT TAR +,FOB'; .RESOLVED, that the City Attorney be and he is hereby directed to draft an Ordinance for the formation of said Commission, and present the same to this Council for consider- ation; and rhereas this Council is desirous . of ascertainin? whether the appointment of said commission is satisfactory to the 1 i J0AV 1 voters of this. City, BE IT THEREFORE IRESOL ED that the Clerk be and he is hereby directed to place upon the ballot at the coming Municipal Election to be held in the month of June, 1917, the following question: "Shall the Council of the City of Petaluma appoint a commission for the purpose of direct- inc the affairs of the municipal band, the said commission to be,paid, collectively, the sum of Two thousand Nti2000) Dollars per annum. Ordinance.No. 161.C. S. An ordinance establishing the Grade of Baker Street from the northwesterly side of Stanley Street to the southeasterly side of Bodega Avenue. Same was-referred to the City Attorney for approval after which the Clerk will cause same to be published according to law. NEW BUSINESS. ICI. L. Gillogly, representing the Northwestern Pacific Railroad Company, submitted map and plans showing a proposed spur - track along the present nedwood Street and crossing the River First Street. Several persons interested, being present, objected to the proposed plans. The matter was discussed at length and no action was taken by the Council It was decided to procure wagon and harness for use of H. Thomas for gathering up dogs and dead animals found on the - streets. The Building and Grounds Committee were directed to purchase same. City Engineer iorwege presented map .of the Young- Clough - addition. Owing to the fact that there had been no dedication same was referred to City Attorne.y for advise as to further action. Councilman McCargar spoke of need of more hitch rails on Mary Street. As some property owners objected -to more rails, no action was taken. ADJOUINYKIEN T.
