Minutes of a regular meeting of Nov. 5 h9I7 were read and
approved as recorded.
REPORTS' OF OFFICERS.
City Attorney.Hall reported having attended the meeting og the
City Attorneys of the Bay Cities who had gathered to discuss matters
"concerning the application of the Pacific Gas.& Electric Co fora
table-in gas rates in the several Cities. The Attorneys assembled had
decided to ask the Cities affected to subscribe to a fund to retain
attorneys and engineers to appose the raise . As this City had on
last year had a very complete hearing on.its gas rated before the
Railroad Commission City Attorney Hall advised the Council not to
participate in the fund to defray expenses of &pposi.ng this raise.
".A copy of the contract having been presented to the Council the City
.Clerk was instructed return same to Secty of the Leaguq of Qal.
Municipalities with the information that the City did not wish to sign

Councilman Young.af the Building & Grounds Committee reported
that the committee had purchased j j a twpewrite'r for the Assessors
and City,engineers Office. On motion duly made and seconded the report
was -accepted.

On finance.
The report of the Finance committee was read and the same
recomended for payment by the followinf regolution,•

Directing the Auditor to.draw- warrents in favor of the several
claims as submitted by the Finance Committee

'Introduced by Young., seconded -by Healey.
'Granting B.E.Adams io'days further time on'the contract to
Widen Kentucky Street.
Adopted by seven affirmative votes none absent.
Councilman IvIc Cargar brought up the matter, of having the sidewalk
in front og th stable's on Kentucky Street widened to full width. Matter
was disposed• o - by the following resolution.
RESOLUTION NO 2Z60 C.S.
Introduced by Me Cargar Seconded by Gossage;
Directing the supt Streets to notify the several owners
onK street 4# in front of the premises known as Kamps stable
to widen sidewalks to full width, and also notify the Canapa estate to
.bring the sidewalk in front o their property to the proper grade.
Adopted by seven affirmative votes, none-:absent-
i..W E�`lder- and E E Dress appeared before the Council in
behalf of ,the9rmy recreation Committee and asked for °a donation of
X2000,00 to promote this 'work. At the suggestion. of the Mayor the
matter was laid over until next meeting. -
