ROLL CALL Councilmen present, Allen, Hopkins, McCargar, Sales, St radling White and. Mayor Young. READING OF THE JOURNAL The,'minutes of the last regular Ideeting held on the 2nd day of February 1920 were read and approved as recorded. REPORTS OF CI TY OFFICERS: The City Clerk reported the publication and filing of affidavits of publication of "Notice 'to Contractors" in the matter If Main & Third Street improvement, and "Notice to Bidders" in the matter.of selling basalt paving 'blocks REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITT' The Finance commit'te rendered its report of accounts allowed against the City and offered the following °resolution; Resolution No.. 2,377 C. S. Introduced by Councilman Stradling seconded by Councilman McCargar, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the•Audit °.or be.and he.is hereby dire;c�-ed to draw warrents against the various funds :Kin payment of the several claims approved and allowed by the Finance Committee Adopted by 7 Affirmative votes, NOES none.. The Street committee reported on various matters but no action taken.. The Finance Committee granted further time in reference to claims for rebate on licenses, as was Councilman McCargar in reference to Fire bell.. NEW BUSINESS: The timev having arrived for opening bids in the Matter of the improvement of Main and Third streets according to "No tice to COritaet "ors 4. the Clerk reported that he had received three bids from, towit; Schlunnegar Bros., W. J. Taylor and W. A. Dontanville, and opened and ze: read said bids, also bids for basalt blocks for which one bid, the bid of the United Railroads of San Francsco•which was also opened and read., and the:1 folowing resolutions were introduced, to -wit; JO Y Resolution P'o. 2378 C. S. Introduced by Councilman White, seconded by Coun - cilman Stradling, awarding contract to for improvement of Main and Third Streets to W. A. Dontanville and rejecting all other bids was Adopted by 7 Affirmative votes, Noes none. Resolution No. 2379 C. S. Introduced by Councilman Stradling, seconded by Councilman McCargar rejecting bids for basalt k3m blocks and directing dlerk to re -ad- tise for bids for the, same according to law was 313 Adopted by 7 affirmative votes', NOES none. In re. purchasing Cement. Resolution No. 2380 C'. S.' Introduced by Councilman Stradling, seconded by Councilman McCargar directing Clerk to advertise for bids for supplying cement for Fain & Third street Improvement was Adopted by 7 Affirmative votes, NOES none. In,re. Sand and Fine Aggregate. Resolution No. 2381'C. S. Introduced by Councilman IdlcCargar, seconded by Councilman Sales. directing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for furnishing to City 1 of Petaluma 4800 tons sand or fine Aggregate as per plans & Specificatiots adopted for Main and Third Street improvement was, Adopted by 7 Affirmative votes, 14OBS none. In re. 1 nuisance on 8th Street, After discussion of the pettition of residents to abate the Dan Ivlc- Govern nuisance on 8th street the matter was refered to the.Board of Health to take action.
