33 REPORT OUT OF CLOSED SESSION (ACTIONS TAKEN)

35 City Attorney Danly reported that in accordance with California Government Code Section
36 54957.1, which is part of the Brown Act, that the City Council, in CLOSED SESSION, by a
37 unanimous vote of all those present in favor (5-0), approved a contract with Assistant City
38 Manager Scoff Brodhun to serve as the City's Interim City Manager when City Manager Brown's
39 announced retirement takes effect on November 29th. In brief summary, the contract will
40 commence on November 30, 2018, and will provide Mr. Brodhun additional compensation for
41 playing the Interim City Manager role so that his compensation will be $216,000 annually, with
42 benefits to remain as they currently are for Mr. Brodhun as a member of Unit 8. Mr. Brodhun will
43 also have his vacation cap increased to 600 hours. The agreement will expire upon the new City
44 Manager undertaking the role or on termination by Council, at which point Mr. Brodhun's
45 compensation will be returned to what it is right now, but the vacation accrual cap will remain
46 unchanged.
