HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 98-145 07/20/1998 Resolution No. 98-145 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California DIItECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO PREPARE AN IMPARTIAL ANALYSIS OF THE BALLOT MEASURE ON COUNCIL COMPENSATION FOR THE NOVEMBER 3. 1998. ELECTION WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Petaluma has called a Special Municipal Election to be held on November 3, 199.8, for the purpose of submitting to the voters the following questions which shall read as follows: Compensation for Councilmembers and Mayor. Yes Shall there be an amendment to Petaluma City Charter Section 19 to become effective immediately and read: No "Compensation. The Councilmembers° shall: each receive compensation of $500 a month [curcently $5 a meeting with a maximum of $20 a month]. The Mayor shall receive compensation of $750 a month [ctiirently $10 a meetin witha maximum of $40 a month NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, ORDERED, AND DECLARED AS FOLLOWS: 1. The City Clerk is directed to transmit a copy of the measure set forth in the recital hereto to the City Attorney. 2. The City Attorney is directed to prepare an impartial analysis of the measure as provided in Section 9280 of the Election Code of the State of California. The impartial analysis shall be filed with the City Clerk by August 17, 1998, the date fixed by the Ci~ Clerk as the deadline for submitting said material. nder the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
