Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma, called to
order by 11a Sales
ROLL CALL
Councilmen present;' Allen, Batchelor, Farrell, D'IcCargar, Riewerts,
Van Bebber and. Mayor Sales.

The minutes of the last regular meeting of November 19th were read
and approved as recorded.
REPORTS OF CITY OFFICERS
The - report of the City Wharfinger for the month of November read. and
filed.
REPORTS OF STANDING COnG4I;TTEES
The Finance- Committee rendered its report of nwnerous claims against
the City and Councilman McCargar introduced and.Councilman Van Bebber
seconded, the following resolution, to -wit:

BE IT RESOLVEV.THAT the Auditor be and he is hereby directed to draw
warrants against the City Funds in payment of claims allowed and approved
by the finance Committee, adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
Councilman IvicCargar reported that the City Hall root had been painted
and is now in good condition.

Letter from Howe & Peters relative to the new sewage system, read
and filed.

Communication from the Board of Fire Commission urging the co- operation
of the City Council in procuring new fire apparatus, read and filed.
Invitation from the Men's Club of the First Methodist Church to the
Council fora banquet.to be given next Monday evening, readdand.filed. Later
brought up under new business and accepted.
Communication from the State Compensation Insurance. F regarding
compensation insurance for the coming year, read and filed.
INTRODUC`II;ON 0 5 P ORDIIIANCES:
A_n.ordinance accepting 5th Street was read but laid on the table
until further investigation had been made of the work on said street.
An ordinance authorizing and empowering the City Council of the City.
of Petaluma to expend the sure of money necessary t.o employ competent
engineers to make a complete study and report,for a new sewer system for
Petaluma was introduced by Councilman McCargar, approved by the City Attorney.
and ordered posted.
NE W BUSINESS
Tire Chief Adams addressed the Council in an urgent plea for more fire
apparatus and it was decided that the Council meet with the Fire Board
on Wednesday evening to discuss the situation. Mr. Adams also protested
against the blocking up the streets leading to the river with freight,
sand, etc. and the Street Superintendent was therefor directed to clear
said streets at once.

The matter of placing; additional insurance on the city hall and
contents was referred to the building and - grounds committee for investigation
The building and Grounds committee were also instructed to look into the
matter or having public lavatories in 'the citT hall for public use.

A leak was reported around the town clock and was - referred
building and grounds committee for inves't:gation.
