Regular meeting of the Council of the City.of Petaluma called to
order by 14ayor Sales.

rThe ",minuted of ;the last regular meeting 'of December 3rd were read
and approved as recorded.
REPORTS ,.:OF ;C�I TY ;OFFICERS,
The Auditor reported - that he had apportioned the sum of $101,704..14
from the Unapportioned Fund to -the various funds entitled thereto as fixed'
by the tax l evy.
The City Engineer reported that he had examined 5th Street and found
the work satisfactory and according to plans and specifications. The
City Engineer recommended the payment, -at this time, of $3,000. to wm.
Sylva for work done on East "D" Street.
The Supt. of Streets r e,por't.ed having posted notices f o r the "G and
6th Street extensions. He recommended the; granting of further time to
Wm. Sylva for the improvement of Broadway Street.
REPORTS :OF -.S'TANDING C-OMVIITTEES ::
The" Finance"'C'ommi rendered its report of numerous claims against
the City and Councilman`dcCargar introduced and Councilman Van Bebber
seconded the following resolution, to -wit:
R.esolution.# 2856.. C., S.-
BE IT RESOLVED that the Auditor be-and he 1z hereby ;directed to draw .
Warrants against the City Funds in payment of claims allowed and approved
by the-Finance Committee. Also that the Auditor draw warrants on the 21,
day of December, 1923 for payment of the monthly salaries b.o the - officers
of the City of Petaluma for the Month of December.
TENT-1011S AND COMMUNICATIONS: I
Communication from Clyde F. Smith., engineer,s'ubmitting a proposal to
do. the, work on the, sewage system, read and filed.
Communications from Mrs. C.. A.. I';ZcGuire, B. Pedroni and Mrs.Domenighini
prote=sting against the work done on 5th Street read and filed.
Proposal from H.. Weber to do contemplated wiring at the City Hall
,read and filed.
ADOPTION OF ORDINANCES:-
Ordinance #237 C.S., name up regularly for adoption,, said ordinance
authorizing and empowering' the City Council to upend the sum . of money
necessary to employ competent engineers to make a complete istud:y and report
on the present sewage system and was adopted by the following votes; Ayes
Allen, Batchelor, Farrell, 14 cCargar, R e rerts', Van Bebber =d Idayor Sales.
NEW BUSINESS
Several property owners on 5th Street were present and protested
against the work done on said street: The subject was discussed at
length. and the mezibers of the Council agreed to inspe.c,t the: work before the
next regular meeting, at which time it will again be brought up.

The matter , of increasing the, insurance for the City Hall and contents
was re'fe'rred t the Building and Grounds Committee.
.The Street 'Committee reported 'that sidewalks in certain districts_
had not been laid and the Superintendent of Streets and City Engineer were
directed to serve notice on the property owners that the work be done.
RESOLUTION #2657 C. S.
introduced. by Councilman Allen, seconded. by Councilman Riewerts, granting
Wm. Sylva., 160 days, extension of time on the improvement of Broadway
Street, adopted by '7 affirmative votes.
RESOLU #28'58 C. 3:
introduced by Councilman Farrell, seconded by Councilman Van Bebber,

granting Charles Foster the privilege of connecting with the city sewer
on B'odegd Avenue -,. adopt.ed by 6 affirmativex vot•es,. 1 no.
Resolution - X2859' C S.
introduced by Councilman Farrell, seconded by Councilman Van Bebber,.
directing the Audit.o'r: and Treasurer to transfe-r from the Street Fund to
the Rock Crusher Fund the sum o:f:4349.70 and from the General Fund to the
Rock ,Crusher Fund-the sum of 4,148.5,0, adopted by .7 affirmative * votes.
A protest from Mr, Fredericks in regard to the trimming, of trees
on hits property was heard and referred to the Park Commission.
