Special meeting of the Council of the City of' Petaluma, .called to

to the members of the Park Commission that they obtain a policy of
insurance in the sum of 4p 000.00 on the main Fair Building at Kenilworth
Park, .adopted by 7 affirmative votes.

recommending that $5000'.00 additioml assurance be placed on the City Hall
Building and `'3000.00:additional insurance be placed upon the office

The placing of said insurance was left to the Buildings and Grounds
Committee.

The `'minutes o'f -the 'last regular meeting of January 7th, and the Special
meeting of January 15th, were read and approved as recorded.
REPORTS.OF CITY OFFICERS:

The
`- Finance'' Conunttee r "endered its report of numerous claims against
the City and Councilman McCargar* introduced and Councilman Van Bebber
seconded, the following.resolution to wit:
Resolution J2875 C.S.
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Auditor be and he is hereby dire to draw
warrants against the City Funds in payment of claims allowed and approved
by the Finance Committee; adopted by 7 affirmative votes'.
Councilman Allen reported that the N.W.P.Ry Co'S., engineer has promised
to construct the new crossings its tracks on East "D" St. within a month.
The.Special Committee on insurance reported, recommending that the
insurance on the city ` hall - be raised to $20;000. and X3,000 be placed on
the .office fixtures and contents: Report adopted.
Chairman Farrell reported for*the E.lectroliex Committeee,,. stating that
the cost for ten standards to be placed in the vicinity of the Petaluma
Hotel, would be approximately P1400.00e It was decided to let this work
go over 'until next year, on account of the lowness of the funds, but
the wires for.same will be installed in the sidewalks when they are laid.
The committee was discharged with thanks.

Council's resolution regarding the proposed wharf on First Street. Filed.

the fees of the City Engineer of the City of Petaluma for services in the
matter of establishing grades and lines for sidewalk improvement, and
directing that said fees be paid to the Tax Collector at the time of
collection of city taxes, approved by the City Attorney and ordered

ing bids.:for the sewer on Walnut St. the Clerk reported having received
three ,bids and - oro:ceeded to open and read the said bids from Thomas A.
Geary, J. P. Lawler, and J.B.Silva, and thereupon Councilman IIcCargar,
introduced and Councilman Batchelor seconded
Resolution of Award X2'876 C.S.
awarding the contract to J.B.Silva, he `being the lowest and best bidder
therefor and directing the City Clerk to post and publish.Notice of said
Award, according to ,law,, adopted-by 7 affirmative votes.

introduced by Councilman Riewerts, seconded by Councilman Allen, approving
the report of 'the Spe;cial'Committee on.Insurance on the city hall, adopted
by 7 affirmative votes.
The matter of additional fire equipment for the City'o,f Petaluma was
brought up and discussed at length and following resolution was
adopted by 7 affirmative votes

resolving that -immediate steps - betaken by the City - Council for the
