Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called to
order by Sales.

Absent Councilman Batchelor.

The'Finance Committee. rendered it:s report of" numerous claims
against the C ity and Councilman Allen introduced and Councilman Ian
Bebber seconded, the following resolution to -wit:
Resolution #2917 C.S,
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Auditor be and he is hereby directed to draw
warrants' against the various City Funds in payment of claims ,allowed and
approved by the Finance Committee, adopted by 6 affirmative votes, 1
absentee.

The :Buildings and Grounds Comm .ttee/that they had decided -on housing
the new fire engine in the fire station for the prssent. Filed.,
The City Engineer reported in re lighting of*the two bridges accord -
ing to government regulations and it was left in the hands of the engineer
and street committee with power to act. ,
Councilman Farrell reported that al semaphore for the corner of Main
and. Washington Streets could be purchased for the sum of 435. and Resolution
#2:9.18�.C.:S; Sd react ng •thatisdid semaphore be ordered was introduced 'by
Councilman Farrell,, seconded by Councilman Van Bebber and adopted by 6
affirmative votes,, labsentee.
PETITIONS AND COMNNNIOATIONS :°
Communaca�tion - from - the - .American La France Fire Engine Co stating
the pumping engine for Petaluma had been shipped on April 14th, read
and filed.
Assignment from S. E. Adams to M. Vonsen Co. re'Douglas Street
Improvement Bonds read and filed.
ADOPTION OF ORDINANCES:
` 6' ity Attorney reported on the slot machine ordinance,stating
that in his opinion it was too broad in its scope; he was thereupon-
directed to redraft the ordinance.
NBW BUSINESS:
The Bi laing and Grounds committee was authorized to have a doorcheck
"placed on the door in the City Clerk's Office.
The matter of placing Danger aigns on Baker Street was referred to
the Street Committee with power to act.
The City Engineer reported that the D St. Bridge will be completed
on Thursday at the latest..

introduced by Councilman Jarrell, seconded by Councilman facCargar,
amending Section 3 of resolution 2'680 C.S. in re delivery of Douglas
Street bonds, adopted by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee.
Resolution #2920 -U.S.
introduced by Councilman McCargar, seconded by Councilman xiewerts,
consolidating the duties of the Poundmaster and City Janitoxi� fixing
the compensation therefor at 4105 per month, effec'tive'e May lst, adopted,
by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee.

ing Francis Powell to the consolidated position of City Janitor and
Poundmaster, adopted by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee.

introduced by Councilman McCargar, seconded by Councilman Van 3ebber,
extending the sincere sympathy of the Council of the City of Petaluma
to Councilman Farrell and h•s vife in their bereavement in the death
of bTr.s +arrell's mother, adopted by unanimous vote.
The Douglas Street Improvement Bonds were. ordered turned over to
the contractor.
