READING - AF -THE!.JOURN.AL­:-- The Rln of the last 'regular meeting of November 17th were read and approved as recorded. REPORTS OF CITY OFFICERS:- -The monthly reportof the read and fled. Poundman and the City Wharfinger were The Clerk reported the filing of'the official bonds of J. W. Jones and E. D.•Grove Report of the Superintendent of Streets as to sidewalks yet to be laid, read and filed. Resolution #3045 C.S. introduced by Councilman .Batchelor., seconded by.Council magi. Riewerts, direct- ing the Auditor and Treasurer to transfer various-sums adopted by 7 aff - Irm- ative votes. The -Auditor reported the apportionment of the 'Sum of $112,031.6.4 from the Unapportioned Fund to the various funds entitled thereto, accord- ing t•o the annual tax levy. The City Engineer filed. hi.s report o acceptance of Fifth and J Streets sewer, recently completed by private contract. - The. monthly reports of the Auditor and Treasurer were . readand filed. REPORTS, - OF' , STANDING - COMMITTEES: The - Fi)a,&4c6 -Committee. - re -- ndered, its re of numerous claims against the city, whereupon Resolution #3046,C.S. introduced by Councilman Van'Bebberj seconded by Riewertzj directing the Auditor to draw warrants on the 'various City Funds in, Payment of claims allowed , and approved by the Finance Committee, adopted by 7 affirmative votes. The Building and Grounds Committee reported progress on work at the City Hall. The Street Committee reported that they had reached no conclusion as to the bast way, at this time, to repair Western Avenue and Washington Street. Filed. Later brought up under the head of new busineas and it was decided to meet with the City Planning Commission at the next regular Council meeting in regard to the matter. Parking Signs Resolution rY'30'50 C.S.• introduced.by Councilman Farrell, seconded by Van Bebber, authorizing the Chief of Police to purchase 20 "Time Limit" parking signs, at a total cost not to exceed the sum of 4200.00 and to,- install the same at proper points within. the parking limit zone, adopted by'7 affirmative votes. It was decided to have the "U turn" signs painted the concrete for the present, as an experiment. Extension of time - Resolution #3051` Q -oB.• ' Edith Street. introduced by Councilma=n Button, seconded by Councilman Rieverts, grant- ing, R. Woods an extension of '180 days for completion of work on Edith Street, - subject, to the consent of the bondsmen on said contractor's bond, adopted 'by 7 affirmative votes. Resolut on' #3052 C.S­ introduced by Councilman - Van .Bebber , seconded by Councilman Riewert's , directing the Auditor to draw a warrant in favor of N. M. Kullander in the sum of §4:.27 and .a. warrant in favor. of Mrs. C. A. McGuire in the sum of ;10.69, adopted by 7 affirmative votes. City Engineer t:o make a survey of "G" Street for the purpose o °f establishing an official grade therefor; adopted by 7 affirmative votes,. Resolution #3056'CeIS. introduced by Councilman Allen, second•e'd - by Councilman Batchelor, accept- ing sewer construction. work on "G" Street, from 8th Street to the South - line of the City, adopted. by 7 affirmative votes. 'The Clerk read the list of unused articles belonging to the several. departments Which are 't.o be offered for sale. The departments were given further time in which to turn in the completed lists. A representative of -the Peninsula Oil Co. addressed the Council for permission to install a fuel oil tank beneath the American Alley for use of the new Baldwin .bakery. After along discussion the matter was laid over until the ne -xt meeting s - a that the Council can investigate and obtain 'San Francisco ordinances covering this matter. The Buildings and Grounds Committee was instructed to have showers_, washstands etc installed in the new headquarters of the firemen. The Street Committee; and Street Superintendent were asked. to 614 ascertain the number of sanitary cans nee-ded'for the business section,' together with the cost, and report at the next meeting. President Van Bebbe,r brought up the subject of a gasoline tank for use of the fire and other of the City, which tank would mean_acsaving of 3 cents on each gallon of gasoline. The whole cost -of tank to be X141. Referred to,Councilman Van:Debber and Farrell as a special committee to report 'back'at the next regular meeting.
