The Finance Cobxnittee •tendered its report of numerous claims
against the City whereupon,

introduced by Councilman. Van Bobber, sec onded by Councilman Allen, di,rect-
ing"the Auditor to draw warrants against the various City Funds in payment
of claims allowed and approved by the F and also dir
ing'the Auditor to draw warrants on the 18th day of December, 1924, in,
payment of the monthly s.aiares of the officers of the City of Petaluma
- for the month of December, adapted by 6.affirmative'votes, 1 absentee.
The special committee appointed to report on a •gasoline tank for
the City Hall asked for and was granted further time.
Chief of Police Flohr reported having.ordered,20 "No Parking Signs.."
Councilman R'iewerts reported work at the City Hall nearly completed
and that work had been commenced on the remodeling of the jail. Also
reported the need of a water heating - system for the firemen's quarters.
This..was referred to the Board of Fire Commissioners to bring in a
recommendation.

Ordinance No. 262 C.S. amending Ordinance No. 239 C.S. entitled
"An.ordinance to license and regulate certain bus,_ness, etc... ", introduced
by Gouneilman.Farrell, seconded by Councilman Van Bobber, was read, approv-
ed by the City Attorney and ordered posted:

Jail Cells:'
Chief of Police Flohr brought up t-he subject of the present condition
of the•cells;at the City -Jail recommending certain changes to comply with
the state law: Referred to the Buildings and Grounds Committee and
Chief of Police to bring in plans and estimates of cost at the next meet
ing of the Council.
The Mayor brought up the request of Harvey Nelson that the Council build
a retaining wall on Thompson Creek along his property and as the Council
has no.funds to build the wall at the present time it was the sense of
the members that .Mr, Nelson be given some available' paving blocks to use
in the building of the wall. Referred to the Street Committee to cor-
fer with Mr. Nelson.

Dr. Cliff D. Carpenter of the American Legion,, presented an itemized
account of the expenditure of the don.a.tion of 4100. recently given the
Legion by ' the Council to aid in paying for 'the Armistice Day .celebr4tion
and returned the surn of $14.,50, balance unused. Report filed and
accepted with thanks
The matter 'of the restoring of a fence on Ninth Street, recently removed,
and 'the e dumping of tin cans into the creek in this - vicinity was referred,
to the Street Superintendent.
,The repair of the crossing at Hopper and East Gashington Street was
referred t o the Street. Superintendent and Street Committee.
The matter of a Fordson. tractor demonstration was. left. to the Street
C om:ni ttee ..
