Special meeting of the'Council of the City of Petaluma called
to order by Mayor Sales:

Councilmen present, Allen, Batchelor, Farrell, Button, Riewerts
Van.Bebber and Mayor Sales.

The lurk read the Mayor's call for the meeting and the certificate
of personal service attached 'thereto. The call stated that the meeting
was for the purpose of'accepting and authorizing the payment of two
trucks for the faire department, contracted for from the Schluckebier
Hardware Company, and for the payment of the incidentals therewith;
also g�Eanting the Chief of Police the financial assistance in the
conduct of his office,' within the requirements of the law.
Communication from the Board of Fire Commissioners enclosing a
copy of resolution adopted by them .recommending- the acceptance of the
two fire trucks as soon as possible, and extending the City Council
the thanks of the Board for supplying the fire department with, two
such excellent pieces of-apparatus,-read and filed. 'Also report of
the special committee appointed to supervise the construction of the
two fire trucks, read and filed.

introduced by C.ounc lman Van Bobber, seconded by Councilman Batchelor,
approving and accepting one Model 33, 212-inch wheel base; International
Motor Truck, equipped with hook and ladder truck body, as per specific. -
ati.ons, and directing the Auditor to draw a warrant in favor of the
Schluckebier Hardware Company in payment thereof in the sum of X3630.0.0
contract,price, adopted'by 7 affirmative votes.

approving and accepting one Model 33,.150 inch wheel base, International
Motor Truck, equipped with chemical and hose.body 4s per specifications
and directing the Auditor to d raw a warrant in favor - of the Schluckebier
Hardware Company in payment thereof, in the sum of $2940., contract
price, adopted by 7 affirmative vote

directing the Auditor to draw warrant in favor -of - Mallory Bros., in
the sum of 4199..b.0 for extras for`th hoae truck and and ladder
truck., adopted by 7 affirmative votes
The matter of a bill for X625.43 of the Kane'Detective Agency
was . brougkt upoand discussed at'length ;, the`legality of same being
quest,oned_by various members of the Council. ' The Mayor and Council -
men expressed their views about the matter and Chief Flohr explained
the necessity of obtaining outside help in order to secure evidence
a' ro satin the s,um of X10.00.00 for Bobber introduced an or.dnanc.e.

The.Mayor informally brought up the subject of doing work on
unimproved streets where there is danger from holes and the matter
was - re ferred to the Street Superintendent it be ing the consensus o f
opinion that such work should. be done..
