May 11th, 1925.
Special meeting, of the Council of the City of Petaluma called to
order by Mayor Sales_.
ROLL. CALL
Councilmen present; Allen, Button, Riewerts, Bebber and Mayor
Sales.
Absent Councilmen Batchelor and Farrell.
The Clerk read the Mayor's call.fo-r meeting and the certificate of
personal service attached thereto. The call stated that the meeting
was for the purpose of canvassing the returns of the bond election; for
fixing the compensation of the election officers and the rent of polling
places; for hearing of protests or objections to the improvement of "G"
Street; for opening bids for the improvement of Central Avenue; for
considering an appeal in the Hickey case and for the purpose of consid-
ering the improvement of Washington Street, Wilson Street and Western
Avenue.
Election Returns: °
This being the time set by law for canvassing the election returns
for the Special Sewer Bond Election, held on May 5th, the Council pro -
ceeded to canvass the same with the results as follows:

Thereupon,

introduced by Councilman Allen, seconded `by Councilman Button ),declaring --
the result of said election and that said proposition had failed to carry,
adopted by 5 affirmative votes, 2 absentees.

introduced by Councilman Van Be ;bber, seconded by Councilman Allen, allow
ing the: sum of 5.00''for the compensation of election officers and the
sum of :45.00 for the rent of polling places, adopted by 5 affirmative
votes, 2 absentees.
Councilman Farrell entered the;�meeting at this point.

The City Attorney read the judgment in the dickey Case. Taken under
advisement until the next regular meeting.
Central Avenue' Bid
This being the time set for opening bids on Central Avenue improve-
ment the Clerk proceeded to open and read two bids, from
Hobert Woods X2602.50
Wm. Sylva ,2538.25
whereupon
Resolution f3140 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Allen, seconded by Councilman Riewerts, awarding
the contract for doing said work to Wm. Sylva, he being the lowest respon-
sible bidder, ado.pte:d by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee.

This being the time set for hearing protests on the improvement of
"G" ,Stx'eet, and none having been filed,

introduc.ed'by Councilman Button, seconded by Councilman Hiewerts, ordering
the improvement of "G Street., and directing the Clerk to advertise for
bids for said work, said bids to be returnable June lst, 1925, adopted by
6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee.
