Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called to order by Mayor 'Sales -. ROL L. CALL : ocilmen present: Farrell, Glahn, Jessen, Ingerson, Riewerts, Van Bebber and Mayor Sales;.- REPORTS OF CITY OFFICERS;: The monthly reports of the City Wharfinger, Police Judge,,Poundma.n, Auditor and Treasurer were read and filed. The Clerk the filing of affidavit of posting of Ordinance No. 2.83 C'.S PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS Request_ of M.; Levin or permission to move his stock oTf hides from 1st & D Streets to the old vinegar factory, read and filed ADOPTION OF ORDINANCES. Ordinance Noe 283 C.S. introduced by Councilman Allen, seconded by Councilman Hiewerts.,, regulating the conduct of dealing in hides and the establishment of hidel warehouses within the City of Petaluma, came up regularly and was adopted by 7 affirmative vote NEW BUSINESS:. S. ree: - ighting. This being the time, set for opening bids for electric en e , ,rgy.for stre:.et lighting, etc. the Glerk reported having received one bid and proceeded to open and read sa id bid from the Pacific Gas and Electric Company, whereupon Resolution: 13167 'C.S. introduced by Councilman U41ann., s.econded by Councilman Jessen, accept- ing said bid and authorizing the Mayor to enter into a� contract with said bidder, adopted by 7 affirmative votes. Resolution #3168 C.S. introduced by Councilman r''arrell, seconded by Councilman Van Bebber, granting the application of M. Levin for permission to establish a hide dealing and storage establishment at the premises Known as the old vinegar factory, adopted by 7 affirmative votes. Resolution #3169' ,C. introduced by Councilman `van Bebber, seconded by Councilman Glahn, appointing Councilman C. B. Jessen Vice-president of the Council of the City of Petaluma, adopted -by 6 affirmative votes. Resolution #3110 C.:S. introduced 'by Goun:cilman Farrell, seconded by Councilman lessen, appoint- ing,4, ft,. Hubbell, H:. S. hogers "and J. E. Tierney, members of the hoard of Health, adopted by affirmative votes. I.. B. Raymond addressed the Council stating that; property owners on Broadway between .English and Lana Streets were desirous of improving said street and on. motion by Councilman .rarre.11,•seconded by Councilman Riewerts the City Engineer was directed: to preparef plans, specifications and estimates of the cost of said improvement'. The Mayor addressed the Council outlining some of the present needs of the City and what had been accomplished the past two years. The following committees were appointed by the Mayor.
