Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called to order by Mayor Sales'. , ROLL _CALL ,Councilmen present: Glahn, Jessen, Riewerts, Van Bebber and - Mayor Sales. Absent: Councilmen Farrell and Ingerson. READING OF THE JOURIIAL.: - The minutes. of the last regular meeting of 'July 20th and the adjourned meeting of July 24th were read and approved as recorded. REPORTS OF CITY OPPIGERS: The' monthly reports, of the Police Judge, Auditor and Treasurer and City Wharfinger were ,read and filed. `'he annual report of the Park Commission was read and filed. 'The Clerk reported the filing of Affidavit of Posting of Ordinance Nom 285 C.S. REPORTS .,OP STANDING COMMITTEES: he rinanee Commi ee rendered its report of numerous claims against the City, whereupon Resolution #3174 'C.S. introduced by Councilman. Jessen,.seconded by Councilman Glahn, directing the Auditor to draw-warrants against the various City Funds in payment of claims allowed and approved 'by the Finance Committee, adopted by 5 affirmative votes, 2 absentees. Councilman Farrell entered the meeting at this point. Council "man Glahn reported the recommendation of the Street Committee that Y. 'Talamantes,, City Teamster, be paid 475.00 per month for the use of hi.s team; instead of X60.00. On motion by Councilman Farrell,, seconded by Councilman Van Bebber said recommendation was accepted... PETITTONS AND COM{yIUNICATI,ONS 2 Communication from the Board of Fire Commissioners asking that the Council apportion the sum of §.18 per 4100.00 of assessed valuation to the r`ire Fund, 'read and filed. Letter from the liar Department relative to the dredging of Petaluma niver,'stating that the bid received is higher than the estimated cost of doing said work and asking the Council's wishes in the matter, read and filed. Later brought up under the head of new business and on motion by Councilman Van Bebber, seconded by Councilman Glahn it was agreed to go ahead with the dredging at this time.as far upstream as the §7000~.00 will permit. INTRODUCTION OF ORDINA10ES: The introduction of the zoning ordinance again came up, Dr. Aronovici, City Planner, being present to discuss the ordinance and. answer questions. Many citizens in the audience addressed the Council stating their object "ions and asking many questions. On motion regularly made and carried the introduction of this ordinance was again continued. Report filed. . Representatives of different paving companies addressed the Council as to price and merits.. On motion by Councilman Van Bebber, seconded by Councilman Glahn. the report of the Special Committee was taken under advisement._ ADJOURNMENT,:.
