ROLL CALL:_ Councilmen present: Farrell, Glahn, Inge -rson, - Jensen, Riewerts, Van Bebber• and Mayor 'Sales. READING OF TE E. JOURNAL : The minutes of the last regular meeting of October 1,9th and the adjourned meeting -of October 23rd were read and approved 'as recorded. REPORTS OF CITY OFFiCIALS The monthly reports`of and Treasurer were read and The Clerk reported the Notice o filing of List of of filing of Ass.e.ssments "G No. 2.84 C.S. the C ity Wharfinger, Police Judge, Auditor filled filing of :affidavits of Publication re Unpaid Assessments, American Alley; Notice ' Street Notice to Bidders and Ordinance REPORTS OF STANDING .COi- The Finance Uommittee rendered its report of numerous claims against the City, whereupon Resolution #32 C.S. introduced by Councilman Jessen seconded by Uouricihman Glahni, direct- ing•the Auditor to draw warrants against the various City Funds in payment of claims allowed and approved by the Finance Committee , adopted by 7 affirmative votes. The Buildings and Grounds Oo;mmittee reported t=he the new office for the Police Judge -ie about completed and ready for occupancy. The Committee appointed to interview gasoline and oil dealers relative to the enforcing of Ordinance Into. 187 C.S. requested two weeks adaitional time in i to report. Granted:. .PETITIONS. On motion by Councilman Za- rell, seconded by Co znci,lman Glahn, the I�-Iayar and City Attorney were delegated to represent the City at the hearing :of said commission. '285 C.S introduced by Councilman Farrell, seconded by Councilman Van Be:bber , providing for- the sale of certain public property located on' 4th Street near "F" `Street, was read, a.pproved by the. City attorney and ordered posted. ADOPT 1.01T OF ORDIUAINCES : Oro- inance No. ;2184 C.S introduced by Councilman Jessen., seconded by Councilman Van •Bebber, being 'an ordinance establishing .ce :rtain dis tricts 'or zgnes and regulating the use of property and the location of various industrie =s and business or commexci,al establishments, came up' regularly and was adopted -by 5 affirmative votes, noes Councilmen Parrel -1 and Riewerts. 1 BUSINESS: Furnishing lumber "D" Street Brid -ge This 'be - ing the time set for been nr, bids for the furnishing of materials for the repair of the "D Street Bridge and tuo bids having been 'filed,, the. Clerk' proceeded to open and read said bids, one from the Cavanagh Lumbex Co. in the amount of •x'655.,00 and the other from Camm hedges Company in the amount of 1 ,'639.00, whereupon Re solution #32 06 C.S introduced by Councilman Fa'rre.l_l, seconded by Councilman Van Bebber, accepting the bid of Camm & Sedges Company and authorizing the vlayor t,o'enter into a contract with said successful bidder, was ad.ovted by 7 affirmative votes. aJO I Wm. Brandon, Bri Tender addressed the Council, requesting that he be relieved of night duty at the bridge and that he be granted every other Sunday off. On motion by Councilman Je,ss.en, seconded by Councilman Riewerts, the matter was taken under advisement. Ame:ri can Alley I This being the time set for hearing protests against the unpaid a.ss.essments on American Alley, hlr. H. Reynaud appeared, stating that his property had been u:s:ed to 'dump exe.ess dirt and cobbles on and that a fence had been torn down by-the contractor and had not been replaced On motion by Councilman Farrell, seconded by Councilman Riewerts, the matter !.Was left to the Street Committee, with power to act. The hearing_ on said improvement was continued until the next regular meeting. Edith Street Thi being the time set for hearing protests on the re-assessment of Edith Street, and none appearing,, Resolution # 320'7: C.S, introduced by Councilman Jessen, seconded by Councilman G1ahn, confirm- ing the re- assessment for the improvement of Edith .Street , . adopted by 7 affirmative votes, Central Ave Th being the continuation of the hearingon Central Avenue and no protests being filed -, Resolution Y 3208 C.S. introduced by Councilman Farrell, seconded by Councilman Van Bebber, di,smis ling appeals and ort erinp warrant was adopted by 7 affirmative votes. • S. The Buildings Grounds Committee were given porker to act in the niatt.er of installing a light over the reporter' s desks in the Council room. The matter of draining the water at "H" and 2nd Streets was- brought'. to., the attention of the Council by Mr. I. B. -11.aymond and referred to. the 'wtreet Connnitt °ee and Street Superintendent. City Attorney Howell presented a street improvement bond covering property on Kent Street, with a, request for its cancellation, and on motion by Councilman Farrell, s.econd.ed by Councilman Ingerson said matter i was left to the City Attorney with power to act.
