ROLL ,CALL The Clerk called the roll and the fcllofving members answered to their names; 'Councilmen Walsh, Gossage, Fredericks, Kercheval, Stradling and Mayor Zartman. Absent: Couh- cilman Healey. Be it resolved that the foregoing report of the finance committee be and the sage is.hereby adopted and the Auditor is hereby directed to draw his warrants ih payment of said claims; under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City, M. Absent: Councilman Healey. 3 PETITIONS AND COl!1MUNICATIONS A petition was read from the property owners on Payran Street asking for a sewer on said street. The matter -was referred to the Street Committee to investigate. A communication was read from the Womans' Christian Temperance Union of Petaluma thanking the Council for their action in closing side doors to saloons, etc. Filed. Arthur, manager of the Petaluma Daily Courier, now on file with the Clerk of this City, and the certificate of said Clerk, that Ordinance No. 5, Charter S•e'ries, the. game being "An ordinance defining the seat of govern- ment of'the City of Petaluma, and locating the offices of the city officers thereof ", has been duly publish— ed according to law and the order of this Council; be it therefore resolved, that the same be and is hereby adopted; under-the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
