The City Clerk reported that he had posted Motzice
inviting Sealed Proposals" in the matter of the Washington
Street Sewer. and also present affidavit o`f Posting
of the same. Al o 'the affidavit of of John

of "Notice Ihviting, Sealed Proposals." the game were filed.
City Engineer H.A.Hubbard submitte� qpecif ic.at ions
for the const.-ruction, of a sever along the center of Sixth Street
from thelamph-ole 2.63.5 ft. southeast, of 11 1 St

REPORT OF ST'AND!NG
Chairman Goasage on the. Street Committee stated that
the matter of inst:.alli,nv a li- at the corner of Vallejo
and Madison would be instal .164 in a few days. also the
matter of -the 'Oak, Street se had been taken up by the
Cohilmittee but no conclus as yet had been made.

to connect with the terminal of the present 'Washington Street
Seaver. The Bidders arere as follows T.- W.Nichols J.B..Si.lva
and A.Carvelli. the latter's bid was not legal as it was
not accompaied by u, certified check. JIB. Silva bids as follotiia
6' inch, s.ewer including "Y's" 44¢ per linear ft.

Be it Re olved that Certain steps3 or stairs: noW main-
tained in fro< t; of ce, . property on Stanley Street between
Howard and Post St rect-,s, and o by D,.. tip. Ravenscroft, extend
upon the sidewalk and.are h'h:erefore a nuisance and an
obstruction to traffic and the St ree't° Supt. .,, to-wit. E.S.
Shaver therefore be and he is hereby .directed to at once
take the necessary steps for the immeiate removal of same. from
said 'sddew4lk.

Councilman Fredericks, brought up the h.eeddof Ca:ureverse
gutter at Main and Kent Street. as promised the property
owners the iriatter was referred to the Street Committee
for their, invi.st i,ga:t ion,.
Mr St o.ckdale. appeared and objected to t`he new sewer on Main St.
near Oak as recent l yypet it ioned for.
Mr. Brown also spoke favoring the proposed sewer. ,The
Council expeessed its opposition to allowing any mo-s'e sewers
across property. and it was decided. that the proposed
sewer should be built on 14a.in Street.
Mro2 Tep'resenting the Austin- Vle.sterivCo. addressed the
Council relative to supplying an. ..other Rock C,rtashe
for the purpose of supplying sufficient screenings
required for Street Oiling and Improven;ent. He visas as, - ked
to. wake his proposition in writing which he agreed to do
to be su >>iriitt ed at the nect meeting.

Councilman Fredericks addressed the Council relative - to the
Sundays mishap N, he 'urged that the matter b.e taken up,
and thourrh that the City should reimburse the hosa ta.1
people on account of the many expenses in treating the
emergency patients. Acting Mayor H:.S.Gossage,, appointed
a Committee consting of Counc'ilin;an. Fredericks, Healey end.
Stradling to look into the matter and report back its
