ROLL CALL.
The 'Clerk called the roll and the following members answered
to their names: Councilman Gosaag-e, Fredericks, Kercheval, Stradling
Healey and Mayor. Za•rtman. Absent Councilman Walsh.

A Communication was received from the Carlson Currier Silk
Manafacturing Co, referring to the , reporto;f the Fire Marshal
Tome of San Francisco relative to th,e storage of gasoline and
referring to his statements as ;published in the Argus. The
Petition was filed and later discussed.
A Report w, - receved - by Engineer Rowley o the Board of
Underwritters giving the result of the official test of the New
Idott auto fire engine, presenting th:e official. figures and
stating that the engine and stood the official test and was up
t:o requirements. Mayor - Zartman then formally stated that the

engine is up to all specifications and requirements as to

Be it re,s6lved that Whereas t`he Engine constructed by
the Nott Fire Engine Co. having been tested and formed to
ferfi and come up to the specifications ;and agreements
heretofore ad.6pted be it. therefore Resolved that the Clerk
be. and he is hereby inst.ruuted to draw a warrants for the sum
of '2500.00 as fir,4Vp4yment upon the pu.r.chas'e of said Engine.

RESOLUTION. NO. 438.

Be it resolved that the Treasurer be and he is hereby
directed to transfer the sum of 2500.00 from the Unapportioned
fund.t:o the General Fund.

Th6 Street Supt . asked for instructions relative to the
removal of .certain :zteps or stairs from in f ront of the
Ravenscro.ft property on Stanley St reset ordered per resolution
at a previous meeting.. After discu the matter was. laid over
until next meeting so that the Mayor can inspect the Steps in
question;
The Puultr-yFAncier's Club asked for a donation of the
sum of 200.00 for the coming puult ry show in the city for
use in advertising the city and "the local poultry industry. After
some di5cus.sion. it was decided to donate the sum of $ 100'.00
It was further decid to allow the show people to ha-ndll their
own concessions so that they redA6.y get the ' x: , °200.00 for

The matter of the taking care of the overflow at a certain
po-int on West street was brought up by Chairman Gossage of the
Street Committee and several plans were proposed f rr remedying it
The matter int7 s finally taken under advisement by the Council,
Mr Burrough of the local box factory addressed the Council
and asked that needed repairs be made to Second Street near
the factory. Referred to the Street Committee with power to act..
RESOLUTION NO. 440.
Introducted by Councilman Stradling Seconded by. Councilman
Healey.
Be it resolved that a vote of thanks b_e and i,, hereby
extended to Fire Commissioners of the City of San Franoisao
and the Fire Chf. thereof for the Generous loan of a steam
fire engine when it was badly needed and that the Clerk of this
Council be and he us hereby directed to foreward same under the
seal of the City of Petaluma to said Board of Fire Commissioners.

Healey and Mayor Zartman. Noes: None: Absent Councilman Walsh.
A Petition was received from all of the property owners
along the line of the proposed eight inch sewer a.lorig Main Street
from Oak street t =o a poiY.t 27.5 feet southerly therefrom asking,
that J.B.Silva be allowed to do said sewer work at private
contract.

by. -the Street Committee ,anl the Council was so informed the said
plan ; s and specifications wer.e thereupon adopted.

The ,Street Supt. filed a contract of T.W.Nichols
for the Washington St reet Sewer as -lo Bonds for fa.itbfull
pe:rformamce os daid contract also bonds for laboring
rraterilas. Filed.
Street Supt E.S. Shaver Filed -his acceptance of Sixth
Street from "C" to ' -'T" Street from Contractor E.S.Adams and
had issued the w &rran.ts therefore.
He also Filed accep.tano:e fox the sewer on Street
from Laurel Ave to th, City 'line.

Ordinance Put Over.
The- gasoline ordinance which was discussed as an adjourned
meeting held was put over until the next meeting..

The Inte(rnati-nal Engineering Co. addressed the Council
relative to the proposed new crusher so they can,-bid thereon
Filed.
The Council declared a brief recess and went into cacus.
The matter of the removal of the Ravenscroft steps
on Stanley Street. : put over.
Councilman Healey suggested the roll of certain
streets with the old horse .propene:, roller for. the purpose
of smoothing down and breaking small rocks which cover the
surface. Referred t,o t.he Street Ccmmit'tee with power to act.
