Mayor Zartman • presiding.. ROLL CALL. The Clerk called the roll and the following members answered to their names: Councilman G;ossage, Frederick's, Ker-cheval Stradling,, Healey and' Mayof Zartman. Absent : Councilman Walsh. The Mayor announced that the meeting was open to any matters that the Council desired to tiring . up for action. F” STREET MATTER. The matter of ' F "' Street bridge and of raising the. crown of the street was discussed no ddeisi:on was reached and it was decided to take action later. DOUGLASS MATTER. The opening of Douglass Street was discussee and it '-. was decided to go ahead with the ratter, and to have the City Ehgineer prepare lines so as. the Council can take action for the formal procedure in securing t'e opening of the Street. It is proposed to make t.h @rStreet T0. ft. wide and the side-willk 4; S ft. wid:{ , when the St refit , is opened. The City Engineer was instructed do prepare a scetch of the Upham Street SeiFrer.. The matter Street lighting was brought up ,and sever & & - plans discussed. It was decided that_ in calling for o:ids they would advertise for from 250 to 400 lights. which matt-er will oe taken up at the next Meeting. SPECIFICATIOSS FOR STREETS. lw•The Mayor brought the matter of trIe S ;t. - reet Specificat for - the Street work to be done in the future. and called th.e .tttention of the- Council to specifications for raacada.mizing, for oiling the Streets, and stated that the Council should have some d6fihite plane outline for the contra ctors to go 'b y. it was, deeided that the City furnish the oil at the plant heated .ready fo,r use and the contractors would do the hauling and sprilink'ling. ,City Engineer Hubbard submitted specifications for thl& work but t efore any action coup. be taken the Clerk was instructed to write to the City of Pasadena for their streets specifications for conparsion before any ddinate plans be adopted by. this City. The matter of Charter amendments were taken up and the Mayor instruct -ed the 'Council if they had aay changes in , view to submit same to the City Atty. , in time so that 3' any - proposed - - amendments could be submitted ' at the cording election. Hall called the attention to the Council.
