NEW BUSINESS
The Qity Attorney was instructed 'tp write to the Railroad
Commissioners, and re th8!t body t'o take up th °e matter r
of complaint against the dater Company at an early date as
possible, and if possible to advance said case on its es;lander.
It a:8 decided to, ar,?.e;nd' the pound. Ordinance making t'he payixient
by salary o:f fees optional.
The matter of advertising for - b-ida' for li.ght-ing of streets
was discussed at lengni, and it was the sense of the. Gouncil
that Electrollers be placed. on several of business streets.

The: matter was referred to the Buildings and Ground Committee
to invest i gate and report.
Councilman Fredericks brought up the matter of the purchase
of the grater plant, and asked if the Water Company br ;the Committee
had submitted in writing -the price for which they were willing
to sell, the plant - to the City. He eras infol-mied that as yet no
offer had been submitted.

the. Petaluma Power & Water Company, at • a meeting held. at the of-
ficez of the Company on April 1, 1913, I hereby 'offer the City
of Petaluma, the Physical Properties, pipes and pipe lines., water
rights and rights -of -way of the Petaluma Power & Wiat`er Company,
for the sure: of Three hundred thirty f ive thous ($335,000)
dollars. Plus any sums of money expended by said C`cmp�ny for
perm nent improvements since February 1 st 1913.

Mr. and Mrs. Saline came :before the Council relative to
the disposal of the dirt hauled from the streets, c.la ming They
could rot get the amount they asked for. Same waz taken under
advisement and later reTerred to the street aommittese 'to make
up with the .Street Superintendent.
The Mayor declared short recess and the Council wBnt
into private c_ausus. Upon reconvenl.r_g the meeting was opened
under the head of new business.
The Engineer reported having completed the map for the
