Be it resolved that the Chidf of Police and the Police Officers
of the City of Petaluma, be and tine;; are hereby instruc-'t6d that the
Council of the City of Petaluma will refuse to audit any account for
automobile or taxi cab hire for the conveyance of p'risoners inside
of the City Limits where the said charge shall exceed the sum -of ',"-a.00 A
for each prisoner so conveyed; and that ; more than one prisoner is
clonveyed' same time the said charge of 0 whall be in full pay-
ment. No accounts will be audited for the conveyance of prisoners
outside of the city limits.

January next succeeding their date, shall be issued to represent the
costs and expenses of slaid wiork and in its manner and forim provided
by law.

The Street Superintendent shall, immediately, cause to be

Be it resolved that the office of Janitor be aria. the a ime
is hereby discontinued and the work heretofore performed by the
Janitor shall be performed by the two men employed in tl%e fire
department without increase of pay. The same to �;o in. effect
August lst, 1913.

Councilman Torr b up the mat ter of the unsanitary
condition of the IvIecham fountain, and the need of a fresh coat of
paint. The matter wras referred to the Buildings and Grounds Com-
mittee to report back.
Councilman Torr aalled the attention of the Council to the
need of an office building for the Superintendent of the 1- Janicipal
Rock Crusher. Referred to the Building2 and Grounds Gormlittee, to
ascertain mat is needed and report back.
Mr. Eatho appeared befo the Council, and made a p10a
for the allowing of the use of barber poles as signs under certain
condition. Mr. Ecker also appeared relative to the matter, an. after
discus'sion the matter was referred to a special Coffimittee of three
consisting of Councilmen MaCa Torr and T ea.le 7, to investi

and report back at the next meeting.
The City.Attorney brovi,ght up the advisability of amending the
ordinance so that the Council will meet as a board of equalization in
July' instead of August to make mattlers ",easier for the Auditor and
other officers. He was authorized to pre?,pare and- present sLich ar
ment.
Councilman Healey brought up the matter of employing help for
the Police Chief, expecially in the enforcefiient of the traffic
Ordinance. The Chief was authorized to secAre two men to help hi.rf.1
the City to pay for same.
E. 1. Camm appeared before the Council relative to the s
of 1� 75.00 paid by him as an auctioneer's license a year ago for ,.Tf
he asked a rebate. No action taken in the matter.
