1914 at 30 o P. M. Mayor Horwego, in the chair.

PRESENT: Councilmen Gqssage, Walsh, McCargar�, Torr, Stradling, Healey
and Mayor HoTwege.
The minutes of a regular meeting.of March 16th were.read and

REPORT OF STANDING COMMITTEE
ON FINANCE
The finance Committee presented a report signed by
Chairman McCar, ar, Gossage and Walsh, payment of
tiU claims to the amount of 3498.44 out of the, General Fund;
Fire Dept. Fund 2 Park Fund- 93.00 and, Library Fund 189.05;
River Water & Bridge Fudd 12,060 Sam was adopted and. filed. a

P. Kennedy,. bridge Tender presented his. resgnation.'_'Onriimotion

Herman Nauert made application for Bridge Tender. Same was
placed on file.
Commu_licdtion was received from the Good. Friday Committee
asking the. Council .to close the municipal offices and works from
12 to 3 0 'clock on Friday, on- motion *:,§am6`,t asr . ; granted;.
A communication was read from the State Compensation
Insurance Fund in rega -rds to insuring.the:C'it.y Employees. As the
Council had already decided to carry its own insu-rance.the letter
was filed.
The Clerk read a communication from the-Railroad Commission
relative to complaint made against the Water & Gas Coming for not
laying their mains on Galland Street, now being improved.: The matter
was referred to the,.City.Attorney to make a new ordinance which
will tkke care of such matters.
A communication from propert;y.owners.on Howard.Street
beyond West Street aski ^g, the Council to order the improvement of
said Street, from. Oak to: West- Street. -I iel.
Another petition was received asking the Board not to order
the work done on the last block on the West Stw.eet end of Howard St.
Both petitions were referred to the Street Committee to investigate
and report back.
A petition from property owners on both sides of Walnut
Street from Galland to West Street asking pexmiss;i,on to improve
roadway under and .by private cont -r -act. .Same was granted by resolution
RESOLUTION NO. 717.

NEW BUSINESS
H.. A. Hubbard,.City Engineer presented specifications for the
improvement of "H ".Street from the north line of Sixth Street to
the south Unk of Petaluma Creek, axcepting its intersections
with Third., Fourth and.Fifth Street. Same were read and adopted
by the following resolution

Councilman M' argar at. the request of the Chief of
Policb, brought up the need of amendment to the ordinance to allow
the peace. officers to placehabitual drunkards on the black list.
The City Attorney amend the ordinance accordingly.
