Mayor.Ho;rwege in'the chair.. PRESENT:. Councilmen Walsh, McCargar, Torr, Stradling, Healey, and Mayor Horweg,e. ABSENT: Councilman Gossage.. The minutes of a regular, meeting of April 6th were read and approved. REPORT OF OFFICERS. The following, reports were: presento d.and.ordered filed: - The report of the Treasurer for the month of March. The report of the.Auditor for the month of March. REPORT OF _STANDING COIt1MITTEE ON FINANCE. The finance Committee presented a, report. and recommended the payment of claims to the amount of $1084;.34, out,of the General Fund* Same was adopted by the following resolution: RESOLUTION NO. 723. Introduced by Councilman Tor.r, .seconded by Councilman Healey. Adopting the report of the Finance Committee, and recommending the payment of said claims. Ayes: -six: Noes: -None: Absent : - Couneilman.Gossage. PETITIONS AND CO11 UNICATIONS. A petition from the property owners on Webster Street, between the north line of Hayes Lane to a point S00 feet south from Bassett Street,,, asked that the Council order improvement of said, street. Referred to the Street Committee for recommendation. Communication was read from Carrol Shipmen, Consulting Engineer, agreeing to furnish estimates, plans, etc., for the proposed improvement of Thompson Creek; and for the.proposed improvement of East "Washington St reet. RESOLUTION NO. 724. Introduced by Councilman Healey, seconded by Councilman To ' t Be it resolved that the proposition dated April 10th, 1914 for necessary engineering assistance in preparing estimates for the proposed bond issue'be and the same is hereby accepted. A Adopted by six affirmative votes, Noes : - None, Absent : - Councilman Gossage. PETITIONS AND COM1 A petition from Fred Keller asking for a transfer of liquor license was read and filed. Petition is presented from property holders on Fourth Street, from F Street to I Street, asking that they be granted permission to improve said street .by and under private contract. The agreement to do ,.said work between Sylva & Shaver and the property owners accompanied said petition. RESOLUTION.NO. 726 Introduced by Councilman Stradling, seconded by Councilman Healey. Granted the property owners on Fourth Street, between "F" and "I" Streets, permission.to do said work by private contract. Adopted by six affirmative votes; Noes.- -None; Absent:Councilman Gossag',e. INTRODUCTION. OF ORDINANCES. Ordinance No 115, C.S. 515 An ordinance establishing the grade.of "H" Street, from First to Petaluma_ Creek; And also Ordinance No. 116, C.S. An ordinance repealing Section 2 of Ordinance No 297, New Series., and re- establish- ing the grade of Kent Street, from the westerly side-of Walnut to the easterly side of Howard Street... The same were read, and the Clerk Ci z� was directed to have same approved by the City Attorney, vie cause the same to be published according to law. NEW BUSINESS. RESOLUTION NO. 727 Introduced by Councilman McCargar, Seconded by Councilman Walsh. Resolution in reference to Section 36 of Ordinance No. 3, there being no. provision in said section for defining who may be consid ; as a common The Chief of Police is designated as the person who shall have such power and authority to giv& the names of persons whom he considers corning under this head. Violation of the provisions of the resolution will be punished by forfeiture of the license. RESOLUTION-NO. 728. Introduced by Councilman McCargar, Seconded By Councilman Walsh. It was resolved.that the Chief of Police be invested with the power and authority to give the notice required in Section 36 of Ordinance No. 3, relative to notice necessary to be given to any person or persons selling,or away intoxicating liquors to and, habitual or..common drunkard, and -that the signature of the Chief attached to said notice be sufficient. RESOLUTION NO 730. Introduced by Councilman Torr, Seconded By Councilman Healey. Directing the Supt.. of Streets to notify property owners on the west side of Bremen from Washing ton to Madison Sts; to eonstruct Cement,Sidewalks. RESOLUTION N0. 731. Introduced by Councilman Torr; Ze - condedr,b.y ,C;ounc. loran Healey. Directing the Auditor to draw warrant for the sum of $100 on the first of each month beginning with the first-day of June, and continueing until the:sum of $500 has been paid in .favor of the Patriarchs Militant Band, on account of the summer band concerts. The Supts of Streets was directed to formally notify property owners in the vicinity of 6th and B... 5th and A., iii near B., and other locations where the concave sidewalks are out.or repair to have same fixed at once, or the city will order, the same, done under the Street law. He was also directed to infor eFf +he removal of obstructions in front of the lot on noth Main Street, due to the gradingofsad lot. The Mayor reported that the Railroad Co had agreed'to raise the rails on the spur track on Dewey St., 18 inches, as advised by the Council. 517 Herman Nauert-was named custo the -.D:..St.--Bridge to succeed P.
