REGULAR MEETING
Council Chambers,. July 6th, 1914..
A meeting of.the City Council was held this 6th day-of July, 1914,
at 7 :30 o'clock.. Mayor Horwege in the chair.
PRESENT:: Counci.lmen.Go'ssage„ lsh, McCargar, Torr, Healey and
Mayor Horwege
Absent Councilman Stradling.
The minutes of a ;regular meeting June, 15th and a special
meeting of July 1st were read and approved.
REPORT OF OFFICERS
Report of Police Judge for the month of June
Report of Poundm -aster for the month of June, and also report.
showing the collections for the year ending June 30th,.1914.
Report of J. W. Studdert for the month of May.
The Fire Commissioners filed'ther budget of expenses for the
fiscal year 1914 ,1915. Filed to be taken up by the Council later.
r REPORT OF STANDING COMMITTEE
The report of the Standing Committtee was held 0',Verldhtil the
next meeting.
REPORT OF OFFICERS.
The @lerk presented affidavit,of Publication of Homer W. Wood
for the publication.of Resolution of Intention No. 764, also
affidavit of E. S. Shaver for the posting notices of ,Re.soluton
of Intention No:. 764.
The Clerk presented bond of Pacific .Gas &c Electric Company
and the bond of J. E. Olmsted of the "Petaluina Daily Argus".
PETITIONS AND COMMUNICI_TIONS
J. A. McHear, Jr. *endered his resignation as a member of the
Board of Health,, Filed to be taken up later.
NEI' BUSINESS
Representatives of the Corliss Gas Engine,Company was present
and protested against the improvement ordered onl-h Street. The
matter was referred to the Council as a committed of'the,whoUe to
investigate and report
The Spring Street sewer nuisance was again brought' ,to, the

attention of the Council. It was decided that nothing could be done~;
until the opening of Douglas Street.

PRESENT: Councilman Gossage, Walsh, McCargar, Torr, Healey
and Mayor Horwege.
Absent: Councilman Stradling:

REPORT OF STANDING COMMITTEE
Report of Finance Committee was read and same recoi:unended
for payment by the following resolution:
RESOLUTION NO. 776/
Introduced by Councilman Healey, seconded by.Councilman
McCargar. Adopted the report of the Finance Committee and
recommending the payment of said claims.
Adopted by six affirmative votes. Noes: None. AbsentL Councilman
Stradling.
NEW BUSI- -NESS
The Council took up the matter and discussed at length the
proposed bond issue for the purpose of abolishing Thompson Creek
and f,'he the improvement of East Washington Street and other
improvements. Nothing definite tas decided upon and the matter
will be later taken up for discussion.
J. B. Silva having complied with the' requirements of the
Council was formerly granted permission to proceed with the
construction of 12th Street sewer by privt�,t.e contract
RESOLUTION NO. 777
Introduced by'Counciluan Healey, seconded by Gossage.
Be it resolved that "D" Street from the west side of 3rd S treet
to the City line be" curbed and guttered excepting therefrom all
curb and gutter already done. to the satisfaction of the Council
That, "B" Street from West side of 4th Street to the City. line
