REGULAR MEETING
Council.Chambe -rs, Nov. 2nd, 1914.
A meeting of the City Couneil'was held_ this 2nd day of November,.
1914 at 7 :30 o'clock. Mayor Horwege in the chair:
PRESENT: Councilman Gossa,ge , McCarga.r, Torr, Stradling, Healey,
Early and M Horwege.
ABSENT :.NONE
READING OF JOURBAL
The minutes of a regular meeting of October 19th were read and
approved.
REPORT-OF OFFICERS

The Clerk presented affidavit of Publication of "Award of Con -

ON FINANCE
Report of the Finance Committee was react and same recommended

Adopting the report of the Finance Committee and recommending
the payment of said claims.

PETITIONS AUD COAU�TUN'ICATIONS
Applications were read from George. Eaton and John S. Peterson
applying for the position as Bridge Tender of Washington 'Street
Bridge. Filed.
A Communication was presented by Gig`ey arid Durst'in reference
to a setTrer along the center line of Keller Street, betwean Oak and
West Streets, as two property owners would not sign up for the workF,
,.
they urged the Council to order the work done at once before the
completion of the, Street. Filed.

I A Communication fro_n the War Department was read, granting
permission to build a wharf along the west bank 150 feet south
of th °e 0ashington Street Bridge.
NEW BUSINESS
The City Engineer presented plans, specifications and, estimates
for the construction of a dewer along :Keller Street from the north
line of Galland Street to-the-manhole at the intersection of Keller
and Kent, same were adopted by the following resoluti

up and referred to the Street Committee, to report back:.
The matter of a sewer on Main Street from Prsopect to the
manhole Tear L. V. Hammell property was refe to the Street Com-
mittee to report back.
The City Attorney read a letter from the War Deptattment,
Engineer-
's office in regard to the old wharf. on the river bank, as

no permit had been granted for the construction of same it w::s agreed

name a special committee with power to investigate the working of
the WasYington :Street Bridge. The mayor named.C�-)uncilmen r,arly, McCargar
and„ To to look into the matter.
The matter of tanking, cardson telephone and telegraph poles
was brought up by Councilman McCargar: T #e matter was referred to the
`- Attorney to take up the question with the public Utilityre Companies
Councilman TvlcCargar in behalf of the Fire Department asked for
a space in the corridor for a work shop. The Councilman was akked
to file an estimate for the approximate cost, etc..
In the matter of th -e complaint agai°ns °t T'. J. Merritt and
Parker and Gordon for maintaining hoe..,•s and slaughtering calves
,within the City Limits, they were given 90 clays in which to
remove their yards outside of:the city limits.
