t RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PETALUMA
2 POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PARTICIPATE IN AMULTI-
3 AGENCY TRAFFIC SAFETY/ENFORCEMENT GRANT

6 WHEREAS, the California Highway Patrol has received grant funds for the
~ creation of multi-agency Sonoma Valley Corridor Safety Project Task Force; and

9 WHEREAS, Portions of State Routes 12, 116 and 121. and US 101 from its
to southern intersections with SR 116 and [he northern intersection with SR 12 have been
t t identified as the corridor for which a Safety Action Plan is to be developed; and

13 WHEREAS, the grant allows funds for traffic enforcement; and
14
15 WHEREAS, the Task Force has agreed that increasing law enforcement is an
16 important element in improving traffic safety on the corridor;
17
18 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes
19 the Petaluma Police Department to participate in the grant and authorizes the Mayor of
zo Petaluma or City Manager of Petaluma to sign the participation agreement.
