A comn-unication was read from the Petaluma Builders Exchange si6n ed by a Committee Vegensen,, McNulty and Harris asking the Council to adopt new building regulations and the appointment of an inspector. The matter was laid over = tr0 be taken yip at an adjourned meeting next Monday night.- A communication was received from,Llarshall Hale asking the people of Petaluma throu h its Mayor to participate in the Civic parade S.F. 1 1 on February 20th,, opening day of the !'air.. Piled 601:F A communication was received from the Chamber of Eommexc ;e asking that the City appropr,ia.te $1,000. from the public Lund of the City for the purpose of receiving and entertaining the visitors to the exposition to the end that as ,many of -them as pooi3ib -le be secured as residence. of this, City and vicinity. The matter was di ac:zsaed(at length and it was)finally � decided to make this a spee'ial matter for the Next Monday evening. - A claim was received from the. Retal —ama Hook and L€Ader Co,.. No. 1, for for the 'sum of $144. same b.eing/%the annual allowance that was heretofore ma0to the volunteer company, f: S' me, was laid on the table. VEW HUS'IN-E S A representative of a new, Street Sweeping machine was present and •as'FK:ed the Council to lookiirito the matter of purchasing a machine for'the use of this City. The•Mayor appointed Councilman Early, McCargar and T•orr t0 1 l ook into the merits of the machine and report back t the Council. Councilman.Healey suggested ti?at action should be, taken relative to buil of a fence in.the rear o.f the Buildings on I'Vater Street. He was appointed chairman of & Committee with paver to sel.edt two other memb— I ers of th Council to interview the prb -perty owners to get there interested in the proposed work. Superinteai.I.en:t of Streets, Shaver, was instructed to blast a portion of the bank of the river at a point „where °the old Bowles wharf formerly stood.
