The Clerk reported that Fire Commissioner Rodd and police officer
Rudolph . had taken the t oath of o'fficeb,As o reported having received and

Street Superintendent reported that a new curb should be placed in
the frontof the Western Ref. Co. on East D Street. Refered to the
Street comrimittee with the power to act..

' Clity Engineer on behalf A61LSmith asked' change could not be made
on the Kent Street Grade. No Action.
Tree City Engineer reported that, as there are two Phary Streets in
the City that the name of one of the Streets be changed.
Bitty Br-igipeer reported that he had made an. new survey of the
Kenilwo,rth.Park,property with the view of correcting error in the deed.
City !j' �'_ reported having visited.Coplands Creek with the
Caty Engineer and had inspected same. He state that the United States
Engineer would be here on Thursday to investigate and advise as•to what
could be' the matter gf protecting the local river.

sewer upon portion of Keller Street between OakKent. Refered to

.Several bids were received for the lettering of Streets, Street
Names and Sidewalk Corners. The matter was refered to the street
Committee with the power to act.
William Silva petitioned for an extention of 90 days in which
to completa the improvement of 4r.#t 4r. Street. On motion. duly made and
seconed same was carried and so ordered.

The mat - -ter of the Volunteer Fire'Deparment was, again taken up for

discussmng. Councilmen McCargar,who,Pres °ident of the Board of Fire
commissioner.s,�,dressed the council relative to the allowance to the
Volunteer rixe Oompanies. The matter was discussed and it was finally
agreed to again meet with the Coun6il, Fire Comissioners and represen®
tines of the s everal companies in caucus next Monday night, and to
decide as to future action.
OBEN of BIDS'
Two bids were received for the N26,000 bonds for the improvement
of Washington Street,the bid of N.W. Halsey�Co.,, was bid as follows
Par value,accrude interest and preimun for $89.00. The bid E.H.
Rollins and Sons were as follows: Par value of said bond,acc:rude int,
and - a premium of $17€3.00 .The above bids were rejected as per resolut
ion 922.:
