that the Second Street Bridge across Thompson Creek isunsafe and should
be replaced. The matter was referred to the street committee to

The attorney to whom the matter Was referred stated that

constructed on Laurel Ave. Same. were publiely opened The bids vvere
as follows: T. W. Nichols bid 59¢ per lineal foot, manhole -�
bid of J. B. Silva 58¢ per lineal foor, manhole 433.,00. The contract
was awarded to J. B. Silva as per following rez:olutnion:,

Be it Resolved that the contract for the construction of a
.sewer along the line of Laurel - Ave.. according to specifica-tions on
file and the same is let to J. B. Silva, he being the lowest bidder.

The City Attorney was on motion duly made . and seconded"
directed to prepare and present an ordinance compelling the removal
of the. awnings from the business streets.
The representative from the Standard addressed the
Council and asked that his Co. be given the oil bus'ine:s:s for the
balance of the season. On motion duly made and seconded it'was agreed
to purchase the balance of the city's needs from the Standard 'at $11.08
pear barrel,..
ELECTIOR OF VICE -PRESIDENT.
The selecting of vice president for the Council being in
or -der Dr; H. S. Gossage was named and motion duly made and seconded
was as unanimous1yelected, f 61r the ensuing term.
