SWEARING-IN CEREMONY City Clerk Claire Cooper swore in Mayor Teresa Barrett, Council Member D'Lynda Fischer, Council Member Dave King, and Council Member Kevin McDonnell. Vol. 50, Page 2 January 7, 2019 1 GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT 3 Mayor Barrett opened GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT. 4 5 Janice Cader-Thompson, Petaluma, congratulated Mayor Barrett and Council Members Fischer, 6 King, and McDonnell. She spoke about the Riverfront Project, to be discussed at the January 8, 7 2019 Planning Commission meeting, and urged Council to review it. 8 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 Katherine Bobrowski, Petaluma, Littlewoods Mobile Villa, spoke of problems at the mobile home park where she lives. Cheryl Coldiron, Petaluma, spoke in opposition to the public art project, "A Fine Balance." Margaret Geiss-Mooney, Petaluma, Member of Public Art Committee, invited the public to meetings at the site of David Best public art project. Jerry Price, Petaluma, thanked the newly elected and reelected members. He spoke about Lafferty Ranch and his hope that the Council will be able to create the Bill Kortum Regional Park. Michael Frost, Petaluma, thanked Council for their service. He talked about Ruth Bader Ginsberg and the need for radical social change. The current issue with the climate is one that calls for such radical social change. Long term planning is needed. Kathy Myers, Petaluma, welcomed the new and returning Council Members and spoke about the "Fine Balance" project and suggested a designated "art walk" at Steamer Landing. Peter Tscherneff, Petaluma, congratulated Mayor Barrett, and spoke on a variety of political topics. Petaluma resident congratulated Mayor Barrett and new/returning Council Members. Encouraged by Council Member Miller advocating for Lynch Creek Trail improvements at the recent PBAC meeting. (Garberolio) Council Members Healy and King each announced that they would recuse themselves for this item, as their offices are located in the district. They left the dais.
