Officers and employees. from .the provi- lions of this section shall include: All Department Heads., regular salary for vaca ion ime they do not use, except at termina- tion of employment, or if the vacation was -not taken due to an extreme emergency, in City operation, con- firmed by the City Manager, in which cash payment may be made for the lost vacation. Section 15. SICK LEAVE. Em- ployees are entitled to one working day sick leavewith pay per calendar month of employment completed, and riay accumulate up to a total of s sty (60) working days. Each officer or employee shall be entitled to be paid during the time he shall be unable to perform the services re- quired of such officer or employee on account of illness an amount. equal to one day's pay for each month which said officer or employee has been employed by the City, but not to exceed sixty (60) working days. Whenever illness exceeds three (3) days duration, the City Manager may r<:quire that the report shall be ac- companied by a written statement of the doctor attending such officer or employee. This section shall not apply in any case where the officer's or employee's absence from work has been occasioned by injuries suffered during his employment and he re- ceives workmen's compensation. In cases of officers or employees entitled to receive workmen's compensation benefits due to service connected in- juries, they shall also be entitled to receive from the City the difference between said workmen's compensa. tion benefits paid to them, and the amount which would otherwise have been payable hereunder for sick leave. Section 16. LEAVE OF ABSENCE. S;eave of absence up to four (4) days V th pay may be granted to em- ,1ioyees in the event of death, serious it esS, or injury in ttre employee's im ediate family. Leave of ab- sence r military duty shall be grant- ed as quired by law. Sectio J7. ASSIGNMENT OF DU- TIES TO IFFERENT DEPARTMENTS BY CITY. IANAGER. Any officer or employee, xcept a department head, may be ass n_d by the City Manager to perform _ties in more than one department f the City, and the salary or wage of s ch officer or employee shall be allot `ed to and charged as an expense of the respective depart- ment for which uch services are per- formed. Section 18. T City Manager is authorized and -rested to appoint such number of officers and can- ployees to the fore ing classifications and positions; subi , to the provisions of the City Charter, s may, be neces- sary to operate city epartments un- der the resolutions nd ordinances adopted by the City C noil. Section 19. REPEAL CONFLICT- ING ORDINANCES. Ordi ance No. 239 P.T. C. S., and all other dinances in conflict herewith are her y repealed as of the effective date o this ordi- nance. Section 20. EFFECTIVE D TE. This ordinance shall go into effe July 1, 1955.'The City Manager shall ssue an assignment of personnel indlea n.g the salary range for each City em loyee as of :July 1, 1955.
