AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN-
NEXATION OF INHABITED TER.
RITORY , KNOWN AS' THE "1955
NORTHWEST ANNEXATION" TO
THE, .CITY OF PETALUMA, COUN-
TY OF SONOMA, STATE OF CALI-
FORNIA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUN-
CIL. OF THE CITY .OF PETALUMA AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That • the City Council
hereby finds tliat.on the 11th day of
May, 1955,a special election was held
in the manner' and form required by
the'Government ,code in the territory
known as the "1955 Northwest An-
nexation ", the boundaries of which
care hereinafter described, at which
said election the following question
was submitted to the electors resid-
ing in said territory; to wit:
°hall the territory adjacent to the
City of Petaluma and known and
designated by the City `Council as
the "1955 Northwest Annexation",
and 'hereinafter particularly;. - de-
scribed, be annexed t'o the City of
Petaluma, and shall said property
in _said territory to be annexed be
subjected to taxation 'by;.the City
of Petaluma after annexation, equal-
ly with the property within the
City of Petaluma, to Day the remain-
ing portion of the bonded indebted
ness of the City of Petaluma out-
standing on the 10th day of Feb-
ruary 1955; when the petition for
annexation: was presented- to the
Council of the City of Petaluma?
Section 2. That said special elec-
tion was held in said territory ptir-
stiait to Resolution No. 1465 N. C. S:,
arlopted by the Citv Couneiil on the
4th day of April, 1.955, entitled "Reso-
ilivon Calling Special Election to
Submit the Question of An_ nexation
to the Electors- Residing in the Ter-
ritory Known as the `1955 Northwest
Annexation"'.
Section 3. That prior to calling
said special elr'^tio.n, the boundaries
of said territory wera submitted to
and _annroved by the Boundary Com-
n:ission cf Sonoma County: a petition
for the annexation of said nronerty
v:as duly and regularly circulated and
signed by more than one - fourth of the
oualified electors residing in the ter-
ritory as shown by the county regis-
tration of voters, which said petition
contained a descrind"n of the new
territory proposed to be annexed ,nl
wa drily Ind regularly`filed with the
City Clerk: that the City Council on
March 7. X955, adopted its Resolution
of Int *+t1on to call a special election,
Nr. 1459 N. C. S., fixing the time and

Section 5. That t:h� Notice of said
special election, which was published
in the manner, form and for, the
period required by law nrovided that
in the event said territory shall , be-
come annexed. to the ,City of. Peta-
luma it shall become a part of the
Petaluma Elementary School District,
and also 'provided that the property
in said territory to bo anh wn
be :subjected to taxation by the City
of Petaluma after annexation to the
City of Petaluma to, pay the remain-
i.ng portion of the,,, bonded Indebted-
ness - of the City of Petaluma. out-
standing on the 10th day of.February,
1955, when the petition for annexation
w7as presented to the Coun - 6il of the
City of Petaluma.
Section 6. That the City Council
hereby approves of the annexation to
the City of Petaluma of said terri-
tory known as the "1955 Northwest
Annexation ", the boundaries of which
are specifically described as follows,
to wit.
Being, a portion of Rancho Roblar
De La Miserla, and Section 29 and
Section 32, - Township 5, North, Range
T West, M. D. B. and M. and being
more particularly described- as fol-
lows
Beginning at the Northwest cor-
ner of the City of Petaluma as es-
tablished by the Charter of the City
of Petaluma;, thence from said point
of beginning and along the North
line of said City of Petaluma South
89° 35' 10" East 1017.54 feet to its
intersection of the southerly.line of
Magnolia Avenue produced South

thority of the City shall file or cause
to be filed a certified copy of, this
Ordinance and map or plat describing

of Sonoma County and with the State
Boarrl of 'Equalization. all as required

Title 5 of the Government code.
Section 9. That pursuant to the re-
oWrements of Article 3, Chanter 1,
