AN OR NANCE MAKING TEMPORARY APPROPRIATIONS FOR
CURREN DEPARTMENT EXPENSES, CHARGEABLE TO THE
APPROPR TIONS OF THE FISCAL YEAR 1955 -56 TO, COVER
NECESSAR EXPENSES OF VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS UNTIL THE
ANNUAL AP OPRIATION IS IN FORCE.
BE IT ORDAI ED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA. AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. T t the City Council has considered the
tentative budget su 'tted by the City Manager, and has made its
final `budget of estima ed amounts required to pay the expenses
of conducting the busine s of the City Government for the fiscal

year commencing July 1, 19 6, and for said reason it has become'
necessary to make temporary \.ppropriations as hereinafter provided
for current department expens chargeable to the appropriation
of the fiscal year 1955 -56, sai appropriations- representing an
amount sufficient to cover the ne essary expenses of the various
departments until the annual approp iation for said fiscal year
is in-force.
Section 2. That for the purpose pressed in Section 1
hereof appropriations are hereby made fr the General Fund of
the City as follows:
1. GENERAL GOVERNMENT
(including all bureaus of
the department of Finance
;Records, and the Depart-
ments of City Attorney, City
Manager, Mayor and City Council,
City Planning Commision,
Retirement and Miscellaneous
and Fixed Expenses ) ......................... 50,000.00
2. PUBLIC SAFETY AND HEAL
(including the Fire Dept.
and all bureaus of the Police Dept.) ........ $7 000.00
3. RECREATION
including the Public Library and all
bureaus of the Recreation. Department)......$30,00 00

hereof, appropration is hereby made from th6 Debt Service
Fund in th sum of $$15,000.00.
Section 4. That for the purposes expressed
in Section 1
hereof, an app opriation is hereby made ffum the
Contingency
Reserve Fund in he sum of x$5,000.00.
Section 5. at for the purposes expressed

Emergency Reserve

City Hall
Construction Fund in the sum of $ 7,000.00.
Section 10. That for the purposes expre sed
in Section 1
hereof, an appropriation is hereby made from t
1953 Sewage
Construction Fund in the sum of `x$2,000.00.
Section 11. That for the purposes expressed

Section 12. This ordinance is hereby declared

for the immediate preservation of the public peace,

safety of the City of Petaluma, and shall take effect

force from and after its final passage by an unanimous vote o

he members of the City Council present at the time of its
a ptIon. The reason for the urgency of this ordinance is due
pri rily to the fact that there are no monies appropriated for
the o inary running expenses of the City at the beginning of
the f sc 1 year, 1955 -56, and that the passage of this ordinance
is ne:cess y to carry on the functions of the City and particularly
those relate g to protection of life, property and health.
