It shall be the duty of the person doing the work authorized by the permit to notify the Administrative Authority orally r in writing that said work is ready for inspection. Such notifica- tion sh '11 ' given not less than eight (8)" regular working hours (exclud. ing Sat rdays, Sundays and legal holidays) before the work is to be inspects . It shat be the duty of the person authorized by the permit to make sure that he work will stand the tests prescribed elsewhere in this code, before gin ug the above notification. Section 14 That section 2.2 of said Uniform Plumbing Code be and the same is hereby am nded to read as follows: See. 2.2-- CLASSI_ CATION OF PLUMBERS (a) A itilaster umber is a person: who possesses a valid Plumbing Contractor's Licens as issued by the California Contractors' State Li- cense Board and w o may conduct, carry on, or engage in the business of plumbing, or wo k or iebor at the trade of plumbing. (b) A Journeyman Lumber is a person who works at the trade of plumbing as an on, ae of a Plaster Plumber. (c) An nppr.:ntice Y tuber is a person who works or labors at the trade of 1;'.±imuing as a cncployeo of Master Plumber, under the direct supervision an' 1 in the nn ediate presence of a Master or Journeyman Phcmber. (d) A gas- fitter is a pe son who w rks at the trade of installing ap- pliances as an employee f a distributor of appliances where the in- sta9lation of said a-)p lian_ s is only incidental to the operation of his business. Section 15 'Thal section 2.13 of said Uniform Plumbing Code be and the same is hereby amended to r� • d as follows: Sec: 2.13 — BUSINESS LICENS • REQUIRED. (a) Before any p +_rson f;rm„ partnership or corporation shall carry on or engage in the business of lu_nb:ng he or it shall first procure a Business License and pay to th Department having jurisdiction, the an- . nual license fee imposed on such business. (b) No business license shall be issued to any person to engage in the business o plumbing, unless su person possesses a valid Plumbing Contractor's License issued by th California Contractors' State License Board, provided, however, th at a F isiness license may be issued to any person, firm, partnership o c: j ration who makes application for such license by or through a b u ;n fide member or authorized agent thereof; who possess a valid PIU-1 ag Contractor's License issued by said California Conitractors' State L cens• Board. The regular business license of a -t:::l outlet for appliances which has been issued by the Tax Collector o the City of Petaluma to engage in business in the City of Petaluma s all give said firm the right to- apply for and receive permits to install . replace water heaters (gas or electric) and gas burning appliances, pr ided, however, all such work shall be in conformity with the 1955 Ed! 'on of the Uniform Plumbing Code. (c) Wherever a business license has beci issued to any person, firm, partnership or corporation who applied fo such license, to engage in the business of plumbing by or through a b a fide member or author- ized agent thereof. pursuant to the provision of subsection (b) hereof, such mcnibcr or authorized agent or employee possessing a valid Plumb- ing Contractor's License as issued by the Ca ornia Contractors' State License Board shall at all times be in actual arge and control of all plumbing done or to be done by such person, rm, partnership or cor- poration. Section 16 That section 2.14 of said UnHrrm Plun Bing Code be and the same is hereby amended to read asfol(ows: Sea 2.1.4 -- REVOCATION OF BUSINESS LICENSE. No person holding a business license shall lend or transfer such license o any other person Or allow any other person to do any plumbing or ainage work under any permit secured by such license, except plumber in his employ. Section 20 That; Section 504 of said Uniform PI mbing Code be and the same is 'hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 504 —SIZES OF VENTS. (a) Each building in which drainage piping is 1 stalled and each con- nection to a sewage disposal system shall have a least one stack of a size equal to the main house drain extending ntinuous from such house drain through the roof as a inain vent. EXCEPTIONS: (1) When a house drain exceeds four inches (4 ") in size, the main vent shall be equal in size to the largest required drainage stack in the build- ing but in no case less than four inches (4 "). (2) Two or more buildings located on the same lot r parcel of land under one ownership, when connected to a common ho se sewer or pri- vate sewage disposal system, may be vented by means piping sized in accordance with Table No. 3 of this Chapter, provided t at at least one main vent is installed to vent the house sewer or priv to sewage dis- posal system. (b) Except as provided in Subsection (a) of this section, t e size of vent piping,shall be determined from its length and the total o fixture units connected thereto, as set forth in Table 3 of this Chapter (c) Not to exceed one -third of the total permitted length f any vent may installed in a horizontal position. Section 21 That the following provisions designated as Subse tion (j), of Section 802 of said Uniform Plumbing Code, be and the same is hereby eliminated, excepted and omitted from said Code, to wit: (j) BITUMINIZED 'FIBER PIPE JOINTS. - Joints in bituminized 'ber pipe I be made with tapered type couplings of the same materi• as the pipe. Joints between bituminized fiber pipe and metal pipe shall e made by means of an adapter coupling caulked as required in subsectio (a) of this section.
